I’m a Zelda fan but only just recently acquired a switch. I’m a pretty busy person and would only get the chance to play maybe 3x a week. I am a big fan of the classic games like Ocarina and Windwaker. I can only choose one right now, which one should I get?
Should I get Breath of the wild or Links Awakening?
Bot is more akin stylistically to wind waker or Oot and is arguably the better game, however its massive and can take forever to complete if you're going for 100%. That said, the great thing about Bot is that you can go at your own pace, and do as much or as little as you want before continuing the story. On the other hand Links Awakening is a much smaller game but is great too. Really depends on your style. Watch some reviews for both, to get the feel of them.
@firestarlord73194: Calling windwaker a zelda classic makes me feel quite old...
@paytience: it came out in 2003 so at this point it is a classic. If it makes you feel better... I’m 26
@firestarlord73194: It doesn't make me feel better.
:(
Classic Zelda games started at LA or ALttP, then peaked and ended at OoT.

Although Twighlight Princess was quite good, and very underrated.
I haven’t played Link’s Awakening yet (I really want to and certainly will when I get the time), but I cannot emphasize how great of a game BOTW is. I recommend every Switch owner has it in their library. Definitely a top 3 best Switch game for me along with Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Also, if you’re curious, it took me about 55-60 hours to beat the main portion of the story in BOTW with an average amount of extra exploring. Obviously, if you’re planning on 100%(ing) it, it’s going to take much longer.
After a quick google search, I found out that Link’s Awakening takes about 12-16 hours for the average player to beat it.
I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. A game with more content but more commitment or the opposite. :)
