Saltwater Crocodile vs Great White Shark
A 23 foot long monster crocodile has escaped its captors who were going to skin it but were killed and eaten by the creature during the struggle. The animal is now well fed and flees to the sea, hoping to swim back to the land where it was taken. Unfortunately , after days of swimming it gets lost and finds itself in the great barrier reef. After a week of skimpy meals, the croc is in good shape but hungry. Suddenly it smells the scent of fresh blood; having never seen anything as large as itself before, It is completely unprepared for the equally large Shark it finds. It had just made a fresh kill which lies between the two and is very hungry. The two nearly prehistoric hunters circle each other and dare the other to come closer. There is no turning back now. Who swims away victorious?
Great white wins.stronger, faster and it lives in water. The only way it's going down is if it goes on land.
" Great white wins.stronger, faster and it lives in water. The only way it's going down is if it goes on land. "How is it stronger? How do you figure? Croc has the largest bite force. Great Whites actually don't have a very big one contrary to popular belief. Their teeth are just so sharp that they shred their prey. They are faster though. I don't see how that last part means anything. Reefs are close to the surface anyway so air is not an issue in the fight.
A Saltwater Crocodile is much stronger. A Great White Sharks is faster in the sense that they would win a race but It's less agile in a fight.
Crocodiles are known to eat Sharks, not the other way around. Crocodiles are way more aggressive and will definitely strike first. So I have to go with the Crocodile.
" It is over for the Great White Shark if the crocodile manages to tear off a fin - - however the Great White can emerge victorious by rushing at the crocodile's underbelly from below. "You watched Animal Face-Off didn't you?
" Great white easy as they're found crocodile remains inside great white many times . "I fail to see how this is in any way easy for the GWS and its been found the other way around too
I would say the Saltie.
You have to look at the variables. How big is the crocodile and shark. Size matters in the animal kingdom. Who strikes first at a vulnerable part of the body. Saltwater crocodiles have tough and hard plated body armor which is hard to penetrate compared to the great white shark's skin which is made up of little, tiny teeth itself, and tough as sandpaper. Can either of these animals bite through the other? I think it could go either way. The crocodile may attack the shark because it wants to put up a fight for territory and because it is hungry. The shark may attack because it is hungry. I think the crocodile would be more aggressive than the shark even though both animals are dangerous to each other and to people. I did see the Animal Planet's hypothesis of who would win between a saltwater croc and white shark. The crocodile would probably strike first because it is more aggressive. More than likely if the croc bit the shark's fin off or did the death roll the shark would probably retreat. The shark may also end up swimming backwards which means it could die. Sharks are supposed to keep moving, but if they stop swimming they can die due to the immobility. If the shark did strike first and bit the croc's soft belly, than that is a vulnerable spot. The crocodile could be fatally injured. If the crocodile closed it's jaws on the shark's head, it could easily crush the shark's head. The crocodile could also be tired and exhausted by death rolling the shark due to a lot of energy and stamina. Both animals have a different bite force, teeth, and jaws. The shark's teeth are sharper than the crocodile's because it has serrated teeth which slices through flesh. The crocodile's bite force is stronger than the shark's because the croc has a narrower set of jaws which can expand. This allows the crocodile to crush through flesh. The croc's teeth are sharp as spikes, but they have to crush and rip pieces of flesh rather than slice flesh like the shark. The crocodile crushes flesh and the shark slices flesh. This could go either way. No human has ever seen a saltwater crocodile and great white shark come across each other. Another variable is how deep the water is, or how close to shore these animals are. I would not want to be attacked by either one of these animals. They are two of the most dangerous animals to divers along the coasts of Australia. There have been just as many crocodile attacks as shark attacks along Australia's coast. One is just as dangerous as the other. The difference is great whites attack people mistaking them as seals, but it can cost a person their life. Saltwater crocodiles attack people because they see humans as food. Saltwater crocodiles have been known to eat bull sharks which are much smaller than great whites. Bull sharks can be more aggressive than great whites and have serrated teeth like the great white.
In deep water, the shark can use its mobility without restrictions and is more powerful.
In shallow water, though? The crocodile is too agile for the shark to keep up with.
salt water crocodile wins.. more ferocious.. those who voted for the great white shark never seen an crocodile going wild in live action

they never saw when a croc ate a shark and never saw a shark eat or attack a croc
@officialrikudousennin: I saw a croc ripping through a huge steel chain with its teeth.

I seen crocodiles just wanting to kill humans.....Sharks dont eat us because they want to crocs sure hell do!
@hellionvulcan: when? Crocs have eaten sharks before. A great whites not biting through a Criocs hide in one bite. The fight starts with them facing each other. The shark has speed and agility, the Croc has strength, greater bite force and armor.

Given the specific context of this fight, I'm going to vote for the Great White Shark.
Open waters with a shark is a bad idea, no matter what animal you are (unless you're a huge ass whale or something).
There's a particular reason why sharks have remained the same for the last several hundred million years.
They get the job done, and they do it efficiently.
If the battle happened somewhere else, like more shallow waters, then I would see the croc winning.

Croc was first........
First in what?
Sharks predate crocs by a good 200 million years on an evolutionary standpoint and remained, for the most part, unchanged since their conception.

A tiny bull shark vs a large Croc yea that seems like a fair comparison to a great white shark http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o7nLZWyinI
A Great white shark destroys a huge Bull Elephant Seal also sharks have been known to fight Crocodiles throughout history with each side taking wins .
Make Sure It Is a Battle
The battle forum is for actual fights between characters. Things like 'who has the coolest power' or 'who gets the most chicks' ARE NOT BATTLES. Just because you put 'vs' in the title, does not automatically make it battle forum worthy. They should be placed in general discussion or in off-topic (depending on what they're about). As well, fights with characters who are not comic book or manga characters or haven't featured predominantly in comic books or manga (Bruce Lee vs Chuck Norris, Barney Stinson vs Joey Tribbian etc) do not belong in the battle forum, either.

Great White Shark kill Saltwater Crocodile

The crocodile would kill the shark. Strongest bite force on the planet by far and had that tough armor to protect it from a shark bite.

That would be freshwater Nile Crocodile
@khael: Actually I think the saltwater crocodile is the biggest kind on the planet and therefore also has the strongest bite force of crocodiles, and also the strongest bite force of all things on the planet.
