I'd be willing to bet Rogue One is.
A New Hope Awakens didn't do much for me.
@monsterstomp: I'll let it take my money, my hand and my eye from its socket any day. I just wanna see it man :(

Ew.
Rogue One
The Vader scene was better than every other scene in live action Star Wars except mabye Anakin vs Obi-Wan
@sirfizzwhizz: tfa rebooted the franchsise and made all prior lore including the movies pointless so from a sw perspective rogue one takes it by default
as a stand alone movie tfa is definitely better than rogue one as its solid and rogue one is subpar.
@kbroskywalker: The force awakens rebooted the franchise huh. Not seeing it. But ok.

Ummm
TFA isn't a reboot.................

it is, they just have the guts to call it one. They took vader's redemption and desecrated it by making vader the reason kylo ren goes to the darkside and a reson why the aliance weakened itself so that the first order could destroy them. They made everything the jedi/republic went through before tfa pointless because now the first order is the empire, there is no jedi order, and the republic is now a fledling alliance which has been displaced by an empire. Its a new hope all over again and we have a new trilogy where we get the same crap. Its not a sequel, its a rebbot. It doesn't build on the story that was there, it just redoes it in a vastly inferior way.
The Force Awakens. Just an overall better made and more significant film. Rogue One wasn't bad but it was a filler film and proud of it. That being said, Vader's ending scene made me giddy in my seat more than any scene in TFA.
Rogue One is the better movie, but I think I like The Force Awakens more for the same reasons I like A New Hope more than The Empire Strikes Back. I respect RO and ESB, but for repeat viewing I prefer the original story that got me stared, and 30 years later re-started as a proud Star Wars fanatic.
They gave me different highs. Awakens was a celebration of the oldschool. Lots of homages. Everything was packaged tidy and wrapped in a neat bow and left me feeling a wistful type of way.
Rogue One is a suspense/thriller dropping you ground level in an exclusive behind the scenes tale of the true unsung heroes. The Rebels. The implications of every action taken flow through the viewer. It was spellbinding, easily on par with the original trilogy.
Okay watched bothe of 'em and all I could say is Rouge One, all the way.
Pro: Great story, interesting characters, nice visuals (except for that one CGI character) and was basically a War movie plus Suicide Squad done right.
Cons: Vader pulled a Joker, some things were sudden and it doesn't connect to Episode 1 all that well.
Force Awakens was trash. Second worse Star Wars movie ever.
Rogue One was decent
TFA is a turd wrapped in a Star Wars bow
Couldn't agree more.
Rogue one was the better film by a noticeable margin.
First half of Rogue One was pretty boring. I was about to feel like it was a film that I could fall asleep during and not worry about missing anything but it did pick up in the second half. The way it played out though made me feel like I was watching a Star Wars version of Halo Reach's story. Rogue One also causes a lot of problems if you compare it to the old films. Like Vader for example, he comes off as a badass in RO but it's almost like he's a 180 on his actions and personality in a New Hope. Not a terribly big problem but it does make it look a little inconsistent
@manmadeofketchup: You could say the same for Boba, only his much worse, Vader at least in ANH had an imposing figure, a lightsaber fight and a TIE fighter battle. Boba just did....what...stand around and the first fight he's in, he does nothing of significance but get tossed into the sarlacc. Yet the EU props him up to be some BA Bounty Hunter, now there's a complete 180 on a SW character if I ever seen one.
Vader doesn't really have a complete 180 on him as I see it.

Vader takes those rebel guys out with ease in RO yet in ANH. we see him not really kill a single rebel when looking for the plans. Why send your Stormtroopers to their deaths instead of you just bringing down the hammer on the rebels like you did before? It was a little inconsistent, not to mention he seemed more winded in the old films compared to RO.
@decaf_wizard: that fight in episode 3 anakin vs obi was not a good fight at all.
The whole ending to rogue one was better than the prequels. Especially that Vader scene.
@manmadeofketchup: Well he doesn't have to do everything.
@manmadeofketchup: Well he doesn't have to do everything.
Or he's inconsistent. RO Vader makes ANH Vader look winded..Hell, Vader looked like he was tired after 2-3 swings against Obi Wan whereas RO Vader went on a rampage. It's ok to admit it
@manmadeofketchup: How can he look tired? He's in a suit of armor/life support!
They´re basically the same movie.......the good guys trying to destroy a force field so they can be able to acquire a valuable piece of information.
Rogue One.
Honestly, thought I was gonna know the whole story but it was smart enough to add a few surprises. I didn't much care for Forest Whitaker's character, but the new Droid and Donnie Yen's character are awesome. And Darth Vader was done real justice. Even though I thought I would know what was gonna happen, it felt fresh and new. Force Awakens, although I really liked the new characters, was a slight ripoff of New Hope and you knew Han was dying long before it happened. Overall all the new things were good but the story was old. I really liked it but I thought Rogue One was better.
