Anyone ?
Question for non indians do you ever listen Hindi songs ?
There was a viral video of an Indian man dancing at a wedding to a song that I really liked and listened to a lot after I saw it. Here it is.
No. Why would I listen music I can't understand?
That's like asking why you'd listen to an instrumental song with no lyrics...
Nah, instrumentals & symphonies can be relaxing.
Occasionally, but not very frequently. One of my favorite music stations use to have a nightly world music night, and occasionally they would play Hindi music, but it would be mixed in with music from many many other countries, regions. So I am by no means an expert or knowledgable. Also it was hard to track down songs I heard I did enjoy, but there were a lot I liked from the South Asian general area. Oh and they probably weren't popular songs in those regions either, maybe... the radio station tended to play alt/indie music, generally as opposed to pop.
@lan_fan: songs or Indians?
@darkthunder: Hindi songs.
@lan_fan: mind telling me why? Cuz I like some
@darkthunder: Well, Bollywood is pretty popular in my country, you see. The soundtracks in there really suck.
I am not opposed to listening to music in languages I don't understand. I am a big fan of Jpop and enjoy quite a bit of Kpop, as well, plus I was raised in a home that loved opera most of which is sung in Italian, French or German. I haven't had a great deal of exposure to Hindi music though. In writing this response, I did a brief YouTube search and some was pretty fun, others gawd awful, so my very limited encounter suggests it's just like any other genre of music.
I'm not sure what Hindi music is (I'm sure I've heard it before and am just not understanding the term). I like some Indian music though and i have to admit I really dig watching some full on Bollywood scenes/productions (whatever they're called...often played at the climax or end of a movie where everyone is dancing and the two leads sing to each other...it's just cool)
@supermanthor: No but I wouldn't mind checking some out. Any suggestions?
I'm pretty sure this doesn't count but there's an Indian Metal group I like a lot called Bloodywood.
Nope, it’s a cultural thing. Korean songs and songs like Despacito are popular in the West because they are similarly catchy and have the same kind of pop feel. Hindi music just feels different

Sounds like a male performance issue.
