Wasn't it a week ago that he said this whole thing was nothing to worry about? Now there is talks of a national emergency. A caravan of women and children qualify's as a National Emergency in his puny brain, but this health crisis that we've known about and been warned about for over 2 months, he is only just now thinking of declaring a National Emergency, what a moron.

@just_sayin: Hey it's time for your Buffoon in Chief to resign, the Republicans should have removed him from office with the impeachment, the evidence was overwhelming, but now with how he has bungled this public health crisis it's obvious he should resign.

Yo muchacho! How ya doin'? Me? I've been trying to keep away from groups. I'm afraid I'll catch it. No, not coronavirus ... something really contagious and dangerous ... Trump Derangement Syndrome. Dude, people are running around, spittle running down their faces saying crazy stuff like "if only we had socialized medicine now, it would be so wonderful." That's crazy talk!!! That's like telling your doctor you have slight jock-itch and he takes a blow torch to your balls. Crazy, just crazy!!!!

3,433 people died during Obama's H1N1 contagion in 2009 and there wasn't this kind of mass hysteria. While the Democrats were busy wasting time on their fake impeachment charges, Trump was acting to address the Wuhan virus. He enacted travel restrictions that bought time and saved lives. Had Slow Joe been president, our borders would be wide open with no ICE officers and he would be giving free healthcare to people in the country unlawfully. Not-right-in-the-head Joe would have made the US a medical tourist destination for sick unlawful entrants and would have compounded the spread of the virus. And those infected with TDS are saying Trump isn't doing a good job, when the alternative is a guy calling people "dog faced pony soldiers".

People be infected badly with TDS, chilito. Its like the Walking Dead, if the zombies weren't as smart and have an irrational hate of Trump. Stay safe! Don't let someone with TDS infect your brain too.

Actually Trump formed a team in November. But Trump Derangement Syndrome has been spreading much dis-information like Bill Clinton spreading an STD. Trump did not call the coronavirus a hoax but many of the claims from the Democrats regarding it and his administration's response a hoax. The governor of California, an extreme lefty, bragged that Trump had done a phenomenal job working with his situation in California and had kept all of promises and had responded quickly. The never-Trump governor in Maryland, Larry Hogan, said that Trump's response toward Maryland was exceptional. Trump's response has been unparalleled in US history. Only someone infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome could not recognize this. I don't know if there is a vaccine for Trump Derangement Syndrome but there should be.

Trump's response has been great compared to Obama's. Even though H1N1 cases began in April 2009 in the US it was not until October 2009 that Obama declared a national emergency. 3,433 people died during the Obama H1N1 pandemic in the US with up to half a million world-wide.

I'm sure there are things he could do better, buddy. But the vast majority of criticism is not legit and comes from those with Trump Derangement Syndrome. Obama waited 6 months before declaring H1N1 a national emergency. Trump's response is vastly better than that. Did you call for Obama's resignation over the job he did with swine flu?

Trump was gaslighting? Democrats have been starting more and bigger "fires" than Mrs O'Leary's cow. There are burning oil fields that are not as "gaslit" as what the Democrats have done.

It will remain to be seen how the US compares to South Korea which has a fraction of our population and is surrounded by water on three sides and a strong border on the north side. Currently 71 people have died in South Korea and 40 in the US.

If you noticed the President's speech today you noticed that most of the answers to the problem were coming from private companies - especially those evil pharmaceutical companies. Same could be said around the world where socialized medicine just couldn't meet the need without good all capitalist countries.

If you can do it without attacking anyone, all the better. Outside of barring travel from China, I have yet to be impressed by any measures that have been taken.

Obama is relevant because those suffering from TDS refuse to have a frame of reference. Trump is judged by some imaginary ideal, not reality. Kinda like how socialism always talk about how great it is, but no one can name a successful socialist country.

@just_sayin: Obama declared H1N1 a national emergency months before the W.H.O. declared it a global Pandemic, at the time Obama declared it a national emergency there had only been 20 confirmed cases in the states at the time, compared to what we have now. Also we had enough testing capabilities back then, this administration slashed the budget for the CDC, in order to give Billionaires another tax break.

@just_sayin: When Obama addressed the nation about swine flu, or H1N1, in April 2009, the disease was just starting to spread. It wouldn’t be until June 2009 that the swine flu would be declared a pandemic.

You can find his April 2009 address on youtube, Tramp has been way too slow on this compared to Obama, less than a week ago he was lying about the death toll, and gas lighting people that they were all safe and had nothing to worry about.

January 22: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it totally under control”!

January 24: Trump on Coronavirus “It will all work out well”!

January 30: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it very well under control, and I think its going to have a very good ending. So that I can assure you”!

February 2: Trump on Coronavirus “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China, but we did shut it down!” No clue whatsoever of the severity of what’s coming.

February 10: On Fox News Trump says without evidence that the coronavirus "dies with the hotter weather” "You know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat

February 24: Trump tweeted another baselessly claims: "The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA.”

February 25: Trump falsely claims : you may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re ALL getting better! Obviously he doesn’t care for those who died from it. (Like captured soldiers)

February 26: Trump wrongly says the coronavirus "is a flu"

February 26: Trump baselessly predicts the number of US cases is "going very substantially down" to "close to zero”

February 26: Trump wrongly says the flu death rate is "much higher" than Dr. Sanjay Gupta said. Coronavirus has 10X death rate compared to flu. If 60K die from flu then 600K will die from Coronavirus!

February 27: Trump baselessly said: "It's going to disappear. One day -- it's like a miracle -- it will disappear.

February 28: Trump said at a rally: Coronavirus is a democratic” Hoax”. No, it was a warning he did not listen to as usual. It’s always all about him.

March 2: Trump falsely claims "nobody knew" the number of US flu deaths, nope he’s the only one that doesn’t know as usual.

March 2: Trump says a vaccine is coming "relatively soon” Trump did not mention that CDC had told him earlier that day that a vaccine was "a year to a year and a half" away.

March 5: Trump wrongly claims the virus only hit the US "three weeks ago” Trump was informed of a confirmed case on January 21(6 weeks prior). He lied.

March 5: World Health Organization (WHO) based on data collected around the world stated the global mortality rate for coronavirus at 3.4%. Trump says :”I think the 3.4 % is really a false number, this is just my “Hunch”! (Hunch over Facts in Trumps world)

March 6: As the number of cases and deaths in Italy rises, Trump says

“I hear the numbers getting much better in Italy” Another Lie.

March 6: Trump falsely claims anybody can get tested if they want. That wasn't true. There were an insufficient number of tests available, as Pence said the day prior, and Americans could not get tested simply because they wanted to get tested. "You may not get a test unless a doctor or public health official prescribes a test,"

March 6: Trump baselessly muses that "maybe" the coronavirus improved US jobs numbers, Trump never thinks in terms of people and families losing lives… just numbers to boost his ego.

March 11: Trump TV speech wrongly states Insurance companies will pay for patients Coronavirus treatment. Next day Insurance Coalition corrected Trump and said they will pay ONLY for Co-payments ,NOT Treatment. Big Difference!

March 11: Trump TV speech wrongly states his Travel Ban to Europe will “apply to the tremendous amount of trade and large”. Next day white House Officials corrected Trump misinformation and said” Travel ban will NOT include trade!”. Trumps can’t even read a Teleprompter correctly.

March 11: Trump’s Ban to Europe does NOT include Britain and Scotland, were there are more confirmed coronavirus cases than in some European countries.

Trump owns Golf Resorts in Britain and Scotland, I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.

mi papa pitufo! I'm so proud of you. I love it when you include facts. Seriously, when I see facts I know you don't have TDS yet. Now for more facts, Obama did not declare a NATIONAL EMERGENCY when there were only 20 deaths, he declared a PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY. On October 24, 2009, 6 months later Obama declared a NATIONAL EMERGENCY. The terms have a different meaning and trigger different government actions. Now the liberal author at the site you read that probably knew that, but hid that fact from you to defend Obama's bad leadership.

The budget for the CDC was not slashed. Trump proposed cuts, that were not enacted, because there was unused funding from other "emergencies" available. The sub programs involved in a pandemic were not affected nor were cuts proposed to them. Real "cuts" rarely happen in DC with either party.

Trump says coronavirus is under control and will be down to almost 0 soon. Trump says it's not even as bad as the flu. Trump shuts down people who are trying to warn about the virus and makes information about it classified.

two weeks later he declares state of emergency as markets have greatest losses since 1987 and the entire US population is panicking and fearing for their lives and livelihoods.

so much incompetence and lying. And the corrupt and ineffectual Republicans in Congress continue to betray the American people by enabling Trump.

@just_sayin: This is a lot more serious situation than any kind of flu, The death rate for this is over 3%, and the President wasn't taking this seriously, and made a lot of mistatements , fallacies, and lies regarding this. This is a lot more serious entire countries are shut down, entire businesses are shut down because of the severity of this virus, and the President wasn't taking it seriously. The St Patricks Day Parade in New York City is shut down, the NBA is shut down, MLB spring training is shut down, all these industries realized the severity of this thing before the President did, who I might remind you said last week that this was nothing to worry about. He'll probably just ignore the advice and hold one of his hate rallies again anyway

@just_sayin: The President called the virus a Hoax

The president called the media's response a hoax. He did not call the virus a hoax.

Let's talk about other Democrat "stories". One key reason that there are so few testing kits deals with government regulations - not Trump's incompetence. The FDA requires labs that come up with their on tests that use primers on DNA samples to get permission. This limited the number of labs that could be working on the problem. That's why at first it was only coming from the CDC. There were issues with some states tests where some negative dna strings were reacting to primers. Under normal circumstances, labs could see what process the CDC was using and recreate their own tests. But due to regulations, only the CDC could fix the problem.. This issue is a great example about why socialized medicine would be a disaster. The free market would not have been brought to a crawl like the bureaucratic agencies were.

Also, Trump did not "fire" the pandemic team. It's hard to say if Bolton fired the head or if the guy quit, but the day Bolton took his job, the head of the pandemic team left. When the guy left over personal issues with Bolton the team was disbanded. Different responsibilities and team members were distributed to other agencies where they continued their work, but they did not replace the "point" man. Fault Trump for that if you want.

Hefe, I love it when you make my point for me, even if you don't realize you made it. Why did South Korea respond better than the US? The reason is capitalism saves, socialism kills. Unlike the US which was slowed down due to government bureaucracy, South Korea depends 90 percent on capitalistic companies to make and distribute vaccines (from NPR)

South Korea, however, learned many of its lessons the hard way — by not having sufficient resources to cope with previous epidemics, notably the 2015 MERS outbreak. At the time, the Korean Centers for Disease Control, or KCDC, was the only institution authorized to do epidemiological testing.

The problem, says Yonsei University's Lee Hyukmin, is that "in South Korea, private institutions account for 90% of the medical system, and 90% of our testing capacity," especially laboratories to analyze samples. "So we needed the support of the private sector."

Now, he says, public and private sectors cooperate more efficiently, having come together in voluntary collaboration. And the KCDC reorganized to respond more effectively to epidemics, including a branch specifically in charge of testing and diagnosing infectious diseases.

When it comes to healthcare - Capitalism saves, Socialism kills.

Chilito, if South Korea was not dependent upon private companies for 90 percent of its testing and distribution it would be in the same shape the US was when the CDC's hands were tied due to FDA regulations. Government bureaucracy slowed the ability to make tests for the coronavirus in the US while private companies allowed for quicker distribution in South Korea. If you are gonna brag about the job South Korea did, then you are celebrating capitalism, mi amigo.

Capitalists ... we get the job done!

@just_sayin: The fact is that some countries have handled this epidemic better than others, we haven't handled it as well.

You still haven't answered my question, I asked when Tramp stated that this was a public health emergency? He didn't until a few days ago, and I mean Trump himself, not one of his officials, because we all know that Trump is always contradicting his own officials. In April of 2009 we had our first cases of the swine flu, in April 2009 Obama himself stated that it was a public health emergency. Trump the whole time has been downplaying this whole thing, only worried about the optics and his re-election, he only worries about the numbers. This thing is 30 times more deadly then the swine flu and just as infectious, that's why businesses are closing down and taking this seriously, unlike Tramp, he hasn't been showing leadership from the top like he should have been. He got rid of the Pandemic response unit, and can't even answer a simple question on why he did so. He lies about testing, we can't even test enough people. We could have been had the WHO test, but instead Tramp rejected that for the CDC test which failed, he has gotten in the way of testing because once again he is worried about numbers. The Obama administration was able to get 100 times as many tests out by this point. Not only does he get rid of the Pandemic response team, he puts Mike Pence in charge of the coronavirus response, a man that has no medical or scientific background and only believes in praying things away, what kind of sense does that make? On top of that the Obama administration was able to develop treatment for the virus within a few months, I'm hopeful that we can do that here, but we need to get on the ball and admit failure where there is failure, and the President never admits to any failure on his part, and that's what's been hurting us all a long.

@kingofwakanda: Yeah if people didn't take it seriously at all and allowed everything to continue business-as-usual it would definitely be much worse. It's also hard to trust anything that China says, but they were hit unexpectedly and did not have as much time to make proper countermeasures, yet the percentage of their population that has it isn't even high. Hell, they are saying people in the mid-adult range might actually have the coronavirus and then fight it off without even realizing it.

My brother from another mother, I did tell you when Trump declared a public health emergency - January 31, 2020.

I thought I explained the pandemic team to you. The head of the team and Bolton apparently hated each other. It is uncertain if the guy was fired or if he quit. The team members and their responsibilities sans the leader were reassigned to different agencies.

CDC rules are strict and are what slowed down the pace of the tests. These rules predate Trump. It is not logical to expect the president to know every governmental rule and the consequences of it.

Pence has done a good job. Just today the liberal governor of New York praised the administration's response and assistance. This joins praise from the governors of California and Maryland - neither Trump supporters.

Ese, the Obama administration had already completed the regular flu vaccines by April 2009 and were not able to use any of it for H1N1 vaccines, and they did not get a vaccine for H1N1 out till October 2009. That's 6 months!!!!! That's not a quicker response than Trump's. I don't blame Obama for the slow response, it was the timing and circumstances of it. The fact that they could not use the existing flu vaccine to build on hurt their slow response time. But Obama's vaccine came out at least 4 months slower than Trump's.

LOL it's hilarious that leftists are now using the coronavirus as their next failed attack against Trump. When this blows over too, guess what? At the end of the day, Trump will have diverted billions and declared emergency federal powers for the Executive branch. What else is going to come out of this? The lesson to be learned will be that open borders is an idiotic nightmare, globalism/interconnectivity is bullshit, and China is a serious threat to the United States. They are even blaming the U.S. military for their Wuhan outbreak as if it was some massive conspiracy. I wonder why the nations that closed their borders early have no known reported cases of the virus? Mongolia is literally bordering China and they have 1 case. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives is listening to the advice of the President and working together in order to pass relief to Americans that will be put out by the virus. When all of this is over, even the moderates and some liberals will acknowledge this. Not going to look good for Biden who already can't speak or stop sniffing people.

@just_sayin: Look I can't attach full blame to him for all of this, he didn't create the virus after all, but I am criticizing his response, and it's not just him there is a lot of people in leadership positions that haven't handled this the best way. Even here at my job there are a supposed 5 possible cases of people with exposure, but they won't tell us who and they haven't given us any direction as to what to do, and it's like that all across the industry and government, but the President does deserve the criticism for the things that I have already mentioned.

mi amigo. Stay safe. Keep your babies safe. I hope that you have one of those IT jobs where you can work at home. I know it was a ghost town in DC on Friday but we don't have the clearance yet to work from home.

No one said you couldn't say anything bad about Trump. After all he's not Obama, right? He misstates a lot of things. But when you judge how good or bad of a job he is doing, you need to identify what you are comparing his response to. If it is compared to Obama's, then Trump is doing a good job.

It's hilarious how the Trump supporters are immune from reality and keep claiming that Trump is doing a good job. We've already seen how Trump has been lying throughout this entire affair. When did Obama lie about a national health emergency? When did Obama block information and stop health care officials from communicating with the public? Not only has Trump failed at every step, he continues to not take any responsibility just like he did for his actions that got his ass impeached. If Obama was in office now, he's be moving heaven and earth to help the nation in this situation. He would not be golfing, tweeting nonsense, rambling in speeches like he was just hit in the head with a rock, constantly lying and putting out dangerously false information, or fighting with other political leaders because of his petty gripes.

Sadly no amount of evidence or fact will stop the willfully ignorant from saying ignorant. For everyone else, remember to vote in November. This situation right here is exactly why many people warned that electing a low-IQ con man with zero experience in public service, a guy who's a pathological liar, and a guy who has on multiple times bent and broken the law for his own gain... why electing such a person would be a terrible idea. Being President is not a joke nor is it something that should be taken lightly. The President of the United States needs to be an adult, needs to be thoughtful and willing to accept the advice of experts, needs to be able to look at the entire world and make sane and wise judgments for the good of the nation. He needs to be responsible and put responsible people in charge. We DONT need a guy who only cares about his own best interests and thinks anyone who disagrees with him is a "traitor". We dont need someone who rejects science and evidence, and literally gets his daily briefings from watching the Republican Party propaganda network... i.e. Fox News, and doesnt have the attention span to sit through intelligence briefings or who thinks our own intelligence agencies are like Nazis. We dont need someone who thinks more highly of tyrants like Putin than he does about Americans.

Every President inevitably faces a crisis, a time when we need the best and brightest working for the benefit of the nation to be in charge. Having an ignorant fool who thinks he's a "stable genius" with "a very good brain" is a recipe for disaster... and we see that coming to fruition right here and now.

Republicans seem to have an attitude that you dont need any qualifications to be President, that any idiot can do it... so they found and nominated the biggest idiot that would be willing to join their little shitshow. They have been indoctrinating their base through Fox News and other right-wing media for decades to think that government is the problem... so Trump wrecked every governmental institution he could find from the State Department to the Department of Health and Human Services. He's pushed out anyone in the administration that was competent and surrounded himself with campaign donors, sycophants and ass-kissers, and generally unqualified fools like pretty much everyone in his family. Many of the top positions in government are "acting" because Trump and his administration are too inept to get and keep qualified people.

So this is what we've come to... we have a major international health crisis and we're stuck with the most useless, corrupt, and incompetent administration that I have ever seen. Probably that ever was. This guy makes Nixon look good. Nixon was every bit as immoral as Trump, but at least he was competent and intelligent. Trump seems to have the IQ of a farm animal.

Remember to vote in November folks. The US might survive 4 years of Trump and the Republicans destroying everything in sight, but we will have our work cut out for us in the next term just fixing all the damage done. We absolutely cannot take another 4 years of this mess. Vote like your lives depend on it, because they just might.
