POLITICS THREAD
@jaken7: Nope Nope Nope
@squares: I'm afraid so.
@racob7: Wow. I'm super happy I don't have a stake in them, then.
@squares: It's amusing, actually.
Poli=many
tics=blood suckers
Rofl.
@racob7: But it's the fate of (presumably) your country at stake in these elections, how do you find them amusing?
@squares: Somethings are just so bad you just have to sit back and laugh at how bad they are.
@squares: If I took it seriously it'd drive me crazy.
Thanks for watching i'm Al Sharpton Hardball starts right now. Welcome to comic vine let's play Hardball
@noone301994: Me too. More of a moderate one though
@_cain_: What do you mean by that?
Can we turn this in to THE politics thread please? So people can keep there discussions all in one place instead of 12 different threads on what type of fake tan Donald Trump uses?
Ok so, what do people think of the Universal Basic Income?
Batman for president.
No Superman for President
Batman for supreme dictator and ruler of all!
@beast_mode999 You do realize 2 million jobs >>>>>>> 200,000 jobs, right? It's basic math. Also, around 2009, the Obama administration actually tweaked the definition of what having healthcare actually means, greatly skewing the numbers in his favor to bolster the appearance of the act. Lastly, those "millions" of healthcare plans gained by Obamacare include ALL health care plans, not just those from the Affordable Care Act. It doesn't take into consideration those who were already going to gain insurance, those who gained insurance due to their employment, those who were going to get one as a result of adulthood, those who were forced to get one because of ACA, etc. They're very vague numbers pushed by Democrats to bolster how "good" it actually is.
False 2 million jobs lost working hours... That doesn't mean 2 million jobs were destroyed.
What did they tweak the definition to mean then?
And those millions of millions of healthcare benefits gained by Obama care... Was the official number of people directly affected by Obama care
False 2 million jobs lost working hours... That doesn't mean 2 million jobs were destroyed.
WAT? It's the same thing! People are still losing income, and money is still being lost in the economy! That's why it's THE EQUIVALENT of 2 million people being laid off. Also, some of those 2 million job hours loss were ACTUAL layoffs. The fact is that it's been killing people's income.

Lol no it's not. WOW. Please define what fewer working hours are please... On top of that please provide evidence for these 2 million lost working hours.
And I want you to give me the number of "actual layoffs" of those 2 million jobs.
On top of that during this prsesidency the 15 million other jobs were created.
15 million>>>> 2 million... Simple math
If you are talking about the CBO
There exact words were people would DECIDE not to work not "loose their jobs".
I'd like to see Gary Johnson at least participate in the presidential debates, I think a lot of people would be interested in what he has to say. He's reached 13 % in the polls fairly recently so 2 more points and he'll be be on the stage.
@sophia89: hope you realize that last paragraph in your link was backed up by no statistics at all. On top of all that longertem unemployment dropped 600,000 during this presidency as well... Sooo

I'm not talking about Obama's total presidency, so bringing up how many jobs he created is totally irrelevant, but okay. Nice try though.
The nonpartisan CBO estimates that the decline will come primarily due to workers responding to changes made by the law to federal programs and tax policy. The agency points to the introduction of health care subsidies tied to income as a key factor -- which in turn raises effective tax rates as someone’s earnings rise, therefore reducing the amount of work Americans choose to do.
“Subsidies decline as income increases, reducing the return on earning additional income,” the report says. “That decline is effectively an increase in recipients’ effective marginal tax rate, so it generally reduces their work incentives through the substitution effect.”
Yes, a lot of people are choosing to work less, but that's because they HAVE to or need to. Obamacare is increasing their taxes while decreasing the amount of money they take home after taxes.
Instead of increasing their work hours to offset this, people are just deciding not to work at all.
