RAGE! RAGE! RAGE! RAGE! RAGE!

They're so good, they're songs aren't supposed to be allowed to be played on the radio by radio stations.

Gotta go with Rage, incredible lyrics and Tom Morello is a genius of a guitar player.

Yeah, riiiiight...

Nirvana may be overrated by today's standards, but when they were huge in the 90's they had captured the angst and emotion of a generation. Musically they may never have been great, but they were certainly the most important band of their time.

P.S. Rage sucks. Smashing Pumpkins were the best group musically.

Tom Morello....love that guy so much!

The only person out of Nirvana that is anywhere near his level is Dave Grohl and he just can't hack it

Just as an overall rock musician I mean

I wouldn't call Nirvana overrated just not as good as people make them out to be, but they were a huge influenece on music. Sometimes you dont need to be the best musicians to be an important part to music.

I feel like a douchebag for quoting this part, but it cracked me up. I hear Guerilla Radio all the time. I'm pretty sure their label would can them if they couldn't get radio play. Unless they're on their own indy one now.

Some local rock station on cape cod, WPXE maybe?. They play them from time to time, though I don't know if Rage had a hit recently that can affect airtime.

Never liked Nirvana, RATM is o.k though...they are a little to political for my tastes but "Testify" is decent.

Nirvana by a little bit, though Morello is the best musician of the bunch and it's nice that Rage is back and still hangin' around showing us that there are still bands out there with something to say.  I like both enough.  Neither are my favorite, but if I was forced to choose, and I'd never be able to hear one again, I like Nirvana's catalog a little better.

I'd imagine it has more to do with their resistance against censorship (and thus, the forty F-bombs that would make it onto the air with each playing of "Killing In The Name Of") that with their quality.

Definitely Rage. Nirvana was mediocre at best. Cobain was a hack, and he knew it.

Also, whoever said they don't play Rage on the radio, they play plenty in the Boston area on WAAF and WFNX. I even hear "Killing in The Name", although it is obviously heavily edited.

Nirvana didn't become over-rated until after Cobain died, when everyone jumped on the "I'm sad because a band I just got into's lead singer died" bandwagon. Much like what happened when Johhny Cash died.

Yes, but the difference (IMO) is that Johnny Cash actually had talent.

I wouldn't say they didn't have talent. You seem a little bitter...

Also Johnny Cash was hugely successful and popular for like 45 years before his death. Sure his cover of "Hurt" got played a lot after his death, but that's really not at all comparable to Nirvana's success after Cobain's death.

Sorry...I just don't like Cobain and how people idolize him even though there was nothing about him worth idolizing...

Really I have no problem with anyone else likeing Nirvana that is thier opinion. I was just expressing my own opinion....hence why i said IMO

I'd just like to second this. Cobain was pretty worthless. I also hate how famous quotes such as "It's better to burn out than to fade away" are attributed to him instead of the person actually responsible for the quote (Neil Young in this case).

I completely agree with the first statement 100%. To me, he's just a piece in a cog, nothing too special about him. The band, as a whole, pretty awesome, but yes over rated.
