What movie(s) do you despise, but are beloved by seemingly everyone else?
For me, it's The Boondock Saints movies, Patch Adams, and Moulin Rouge.

Napoleon Dynamite. I didn't laugh once, but all my friends were cracking up. I've since gotten new friends.
hate fest!!!
Godfather trilogy
Avatar
Twilight films
Harry Potter films
Lord of the Rings films (I enjoy the books, they're a different experience altogether)
Inside Man.This It just bored me.
Same. Good movie but hardly the best.Shawshank Redemption. It's not that I hated it, I thought it was decent, but I do not understand all the fawning over it receives.
Inception. Movie could've been done with $1 million budget without the bullsh*t special effects, and Ellen Page is only in the movie so she can ask 50 questions in order to explain to the audience exactly what the f*ck is going on. In addition, though completely irrelevant, Leo looks bloated as hell.
And a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream? Wow! WHAT AN AWE-INSPIRING CONCEPT! Come on, now.
Also, Thor and Captain America are trash. Yeah, I said it.

The Hangover. Stupidest movie I've ever watched.
agreed. Saw so many douches dressed up as Zack Galifniaaejfnaegus in Vegas after that movie, it was so obnoxious.
In all fairness, I love the Tolkien books, they are obviously a different experience as your reading it, the movies are just so long and uneventful, and long@cattlebattle said:

wasn't he supposed to be dressed like Rain Man in that movie? Well in that part of the movie...at least they weren't dressed like Hunter S. Thompson@hydrabob said:

Napoleon Dynamite. I enjoyed absolutely nothing about that movie, and never understood the hype.
Avatar is another one. The first time I watched it, I was swept up 3D visuals, despite all my better instincts, and loved it. When I tried to watch it a second time, however, I thought that it sucked. No matter how much I try to enjoy it again, I can just never get through it.
Oh, and X2. Everyone seems to regard that as one of the best superhero movies ever, but I didn't like it.
I also hated Captain America. In fact, I actually prefer Thor over Captain America. I know, sue me.
Also, there's Titanic. I can't stand Titanic (that's two, James Cameron...)
I'm sure there are more, but Napoleon Dynamite, X2, Avatar, Titanic and Captain America are the ones right off the top of my head.
Napoleon Dynamite wasn't funny at all, Thin Red Line was pretty stupid and Batman Returns isn't really that good.
Titanic
Star Wars Ep 2 Attack of the Clones
The 2nd and 3rd Matrix movies--the first one was great though
The Blind Side
No Country for Old Men
Wedding Crashers
Juno
Pretty much any of these Seth Rogan movies that everyone seems to just be in love with (except Zack and Miri, but I think Kevin Smith had more to do with that than Rogan)...I just don't get it, he pretty much plays the same character in all his movies...yes, even Green Hornett

Well, of course. It's not as if it's a story we don't know. We've seen it hundreds of times; it's Dances with Wolves in space. But the visuals were quite impressive, and for that it's a movie I'll see more than once. I own the DVD and I don't regret it.

I didn't like Captain America.
Thor was okay, I suppose. Loki was the best part.
I loved Inception.
The Nightmare Before Christmas and just about everything else Tim Burton's responsible for. I strongly dislike him and his style.
Avatar (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz)
The Dark Knight (it was okay)
HP 7&8 (based on my least favorite book of the series...)
Godfather films (meh)
Inception. Everyone just jizzed when that movie came out and could not STOP TALKING ABOUT IT. "Have you seen the movie??? OMG WHAT DID YOU THINK ABOUT THE END?!!!" I saw it twice, the first time I enjoyed it and aspects of it, but the second time I saw it and the more I heard people talking excitedly about it and holding discussions over it, the more annoyed I got with it. Which is probably misplaced anger, I should be more frustrated with my friends and the people having these talks, but they hold their opinions and I respect them. I just felt like the movie tried very hard to be extremely intellectual and complex for the sake of being complex, and I thought people were putting too much thought into it. They saw it as the most philosophical movie ever, which it really wasn't at all. It was just a heist movie taking place in a guy's head, but everyone saw it as a spiritual experience and that's what annoyed me. People seeing it as something altogether greater than what it really is.
But then again, just a biased mofo with his opinion talking here.
