@mortal: Good for you, man. I don't like DBZ myself, but I agree that it does get a lot of unwarranted burn from some people. I just don't really like anime.

If we are allowed to use any fictional character, Q from Star Trek wins, hands down.

Barragan (bleach) and Death (Supernatural)

ok Barragan might not be most powerful but his power probably is the strongest even probably equal to death's power. if he's not an idiot like in the bleach series he could beat anyone (instead of shooting everything he see with his power, he can just touch and kill. his power are absolute even himself (the source of the power) can not escape from it.

Death (supernatural) - this is what he and dean said

Death : "As old as God. Maybe older. Neither of us can remember anymore. Life, death, chicken, egg. Regardless -- at the end, I'll reap him too."

Dean : "God? You'll reap God?"

Death : "Oh, yes. God will die, too, Dean.

that mean all the gods such as TOAA, Presence, Elder Gods, Q........ will get kill by him

Some mentioned the saint of killers. They would be right. He I think he really could solo the JLA.

Jackie Estacardo from the Darkness is honestly pretty god-like.

Asura solos the bleach and naruto verse at the same time.

Gurren Lagan (murdered dat spelling) is ridiculous.

................This is the EXACT same reason why 99.9% of this site and all the other ones you've been on don't like her. Don't go placing Storm on tiers she simply isn't on. You've made it bad enough for us already, quit it now!

Asura from Asura's Wrath. He killed God (The Creator/Chakravartin etc.), not only that, but when he and God battled it literally tore apart TIME & SPACE! And Asura BEAT HIM! So I'm pretty sure he is the most powerfulest.

the supposed god of that universe can't even warp asura's ass to oblivion if he was truly that powerful.

Death from Sandman is pretty beast.

Lucifer Morningstar is a good example of a character with that much power that actually has a character and involves himself in the plot.

The author is the most powerful character in fiction. He can always destroy anyone, even omnipotent beings, with just a few words.

Eric Cartman. He has the power of every power but better.

Actually, since the onmipotence/omniscience/omnipresence of most fictional character is limited by the author's ability to write such a character, this seems to be the only legit answer anyone has given on this topic.

Also... "Once upon every time in every existence, there was something. It was perfect, infact so perfect that giving it a name or description would defy its perfection, because a name is a trait that is percieved subjectively and being perfect, this something was truly objective. Every part of its being that bore quantifiable characteristics encompassed infinity, so it was not a characteristic at all, just its archetype."

"Guys, I just wrote a piece of fiction and I think that my character is the most powerful one in fiction!" ...pointless thread.

Not really.

The point that this is written as a meta-fiction is misunderstood for a power-set.

@just_banter: @mysticmedivh:

The Lovecraft mythos has an infinite amount of higher spatial dimensions:

The cube and sphere, of three dimensions, are thus cut from corresponding forms of four dimensions that men know only through guesses and dreams; and these in turn are cut from forms of five dimensions, and so on up to the dizzy and reachless heights of archetypal infinity.

There are an infinite amount of universes:

The main body of the beings inhabits strangely organized abysses wholly beyond the utmost reach of any human imagination. The space-time globule which we recognize as the totality of all cosmic entity is only an atom in the genuine infinity which is theirs.

Yog-Sothoth was the totality of all of this:

It was an All-in-One and One-in-All of limitless being and self, not merely a thing of one Space-Time continuum, but allied to the ultimate animating essence of existence’s whole unbounded sweep; the last, utter sweep which has no confines and which outreaches fancy and mathematics alike. It was perhaps that which certain secret cults of earth have whispered of as YOG-SOTHOTH

Yet Yog-Sothoth exists beyond all of this:

A gate had been unlocked&;not indeed the Ultimate Gate, but one leading from earth and time to that extension of earth which is outside time, and from which in turn the Ultimate Gate leads fearsomely and perilously to the Last Void which is outside all earths, all universes, and all matter.

The archetypes, throbbed the waves, are the people of the ultimate abyss; formless, ineffable, and guessed at only by rare dreamers on the low-dimensioned worlds. Chief among such was this informing BEING itself . . . which indeed was Carter’s own archetype. The glutless zeal of Carter and all his forbears for forbidden cosmic secrets was a natural result of derivation from the SUPREME ARCHETYPE. On every world all great wizards, all great thinkers, all great artists, are facets of IT.

So Yog-Sothoth is the embodiment of all of space, time, infinite dimensions, nothingness, everything, etc. and also exists outside of all of this.

Yet there are still beings above Yog-Sothoth, namely the Nameless Mist, and Azathoth.

Actually the most powerful character ever written in fiction is the God of Text from Suggsverse.

Just look at the Suggsverse cosmology here:

http://suggsverse.wikia.com/wiki/Cosmic_Hierarchy

The God of Text is even above all of this. The God of Text also owns and controls all of fiction, including fan fiction. Basically anything that happens in fiction is only because he allows it to happen. So you can't even create your own fan fic to beat him.
