Which is your choice?
A planet crushing, pounding heavy metal track?
or
A smooth toned, fast rhyming rap beat?
And go!

Rap for me.
Can't really stand metal (can't exactly stand most rap,either....especially the popular, mainstream ones. But not all)
Metal, absolutely Metal. It's kinda funny, my best friend who's black actually likes Hard Rock and Metal better than Rap
Why not both?
Though ultimately, I prefer metal.
Always rap.
Rap.
Hip-hop. More versatile. So many different types of hip-hop. There is even metal infused hip-hop (I don't like it but it exists)
There is a plethora of metal subs. Industrial, heavy, metalcore (hate to admit it), nu metal, black metal, death metal, funk metal, doom metal, stoner metal. And those are just the ones I listen to. Both rap and metal are versatile in their own ways.
Back on topic. I'd pick rap just because more new stuff interests me.

True they both have a lot of sub genres. I just prefer hip-hop because its what I grew up listening to and for me personally its more relatable most of the time
@blade_r: I'm a weirdo. I've listened to just about everything. I think I initially grew up with classical, then rap, then lost interest in rap and went to rock/punk/metal. Now I listen to everything.

Lol same here! I'm a weirdo too! I did like the same thing but like in reverse. I grew up on hip-hop, then at some point got into rock too (Jimi Hendrix, Zeppelin, The Who, Blue Oyster Cult, Stones, Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pink Floyd, stuff like that. I also got into a little metal like Mudvayne and Children Of Bodom but then I kind of lost interest and just stuck with hip-hop like I used to lol
Hate rap.
Don't really listen to metal.
Metal.
Why?
@wolverine08: It just doesn't appeal to me. Never liked it, never have. I never listened to it until I was already a teen, and by then it was nothing to me, but deafening.
Metal has always been my fav. I like older rap before hip hop got ahold of it and rappers became princesses by rapping about how much money they have and how cool they think they are. Today's hip hop infused rap is absolute garbage.
Rap stomps easy. But I like some metal. Not the screaming sh*t though.
Because all metal is screaming. :O

I didn't say all metal was screaming... I just don't like the metal which involves screaming...
@monsterstomp: I misread that sorry. Just used to people generalizing metal.

This. That's me btw lol.
