We usually get everything first.

I mostly blame my not knowing the release dates of superhero movies on my lack of interest in superhero movies nowadays honestly. From what I've been hearing from critics' reviews, GOTG 2 feels the same way I felt about AOU: mostly feels the same as the first movie but not as refreshing.
As a guy who saw the movie, would you say that is true?
@iara: You wont be disappointed!
HMM.
I liked it!
Here's my most non spoilery review
I didn't come out of it feeling disappointed like watching BvS, Suicide squad. It definitely was waay better than that
I didn't come out of it feeling indifferent like I did watching Antman and Dr Strange. I thought it was way better than that.
It wasn't forgettable like coming out of AoU or DKR where i was kinda let down. I came out feeling good and feeling like man that was awesome.
But it wasn't as memorable as watching Civil War, or Winter Soldier
However I didn't come out feeling like new cinematic steps have been broken like watching Deadpool, Logan or DOFP.
So somewhere in that scale. I came out feeling like man it was awesome! definitely one of the better ones but it wasn't the best.
@linsanel_doctor: What about?
@soaringturkeys: So basically it was fun entertainment but not ground-breaking?
@soaringturkeys: ah never mind
@life_without_progress: Yup! that's about right
@soaringturkeys: Do we see Ego in his planet form, and if so does he look epic?
I guess that means @theamazingspidey lives in New Zealand too since he wrote a spoiler free review for GotG Vol. 2 today as well. Glad you liked it though I hear it's a retread of the first.
@mazahs117: sort of
@lvenger: Probs!
I'm pretty sure though that there are press / premiere releases a while back but have a media embargo until it hits the first cinema
@soaringturkeys: What did you think of Ego as a villain? I have some friends from New Zealand who saw it opening night, and most said he was terrible, but one said he was the best MCU villain yet. I'm just curious because he's probably the part of the movie I'm most interested going in. I feel like villains have been a huge issue in the MCU so once they finally nail one it's gonna dramatically amplify the movie for me.
Okay well for me the main issue with villains is that they are evil for evils sake. They are mostly forgettable and do things that are just plain ridiculous for the namesake of evil. The only memorable villains are, Loki, Purple Man & Kingpin.
He's not the worst villain. So out of all the lackluster villains we've had. He's the best of the worst lot. He still suffers the same forgetfulness but at least he has some redeeming qualities.
@soaringturkeys: Thanks. I wasn't even that big a Loki fan, but I agree the Netflix Villains have been pretty great, absolutely love Kilgrave and Cottonmouth. Here's hoping Keaton kills it in Homecoming.
@soaringturkeys: From what I've been getting it's a fun time at the movies but it's not really spectacular per say. Still probably worth going to see in theaters. Having a good time/ enjoyable experience is the reason why people go to movies like this and this movie seems to have that down pat. Glad you enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to seeing it on Memorial Day weekend with the family.
@buildhare: He is from Australia apparently so you're right.

I would think there would be media embargos but there are some early reviews from Variety, Entertainment Weekly and other select film magazines/sites too.
@just_banter: the first time
Speedblitz gg will actually be in character
