@erikarlsson: Was definitely a big deal, biggest tennis match attendance in the US for like 40 years? That's ridiculous.
Is there a sport which women are clearly better than men?
@mexicutioner: It did make a difference for female athletes as well. Because of it they received more attention and it's why players like Serena make more than some of her male counterparts.
*smh* pole dancing? sailing? gymnastics? I suppose anything that's competitive can be labeled as a "sport"
my vote is to either diving or synchronized swimming. Boobs float (if there real) so they should have an advantage on men..?
Women have more fat, especially on their chest and buttocks (giggity) so that automatically gives them an advantage that manly muscles can't compensate.
@leo-343: @mexicutioner: Yeah, you guys have a point. I just remember my Mom always talking about it when I was growing up so I always thought it was some huge deal.
It was a huge deal because of the hype. For many years people still refer to that win and believe the hype. It's just goes to show you how people can buy into things.
Gymnastics and I think equestrian. There are a lot of high level female fencers out there.
These. If you really look at a long line of fencing champions, a ton of them are very petite and dainty people.
And then gymnastics goes without saying. They're generally more flexible than us guys.

Yeah, I see what you're saying.
Pretty much like the hype surrounding Mr.Unanimous and the Warriors.
There's not many. Rhythmic gymnastics (if that counts) and synchronised swimming are the first I thought of.
Ok to be serious I would go with Ice Skating, Gymnastics, Horse riding, Synchronized Swimming...I am also willing to say Women if they get their shittogether in sports can probably compete in F-1 racing and NASCAR etc
Tennis FUKTHAT...anyone think Serena looks like a dude anyhow? like if she didn't have lipstick and a dress would you almost mistake the player as a man? Is she just naturally 'macho' or is she on the 'roids? I mean if she didn't wear a dress you would think its a dude...I think her Sister older sis Venus is very cool, she had great style as a player but I hate Tennis now, the worst thing to happen Tennis was the 'Power' game and people like Sampras destroying the sport with big serves
Tennis? I'd bet my money on Djokovic over Serena Williams any day.
Battle of the Sexes already happened and the men easily dismantled the women. I think gymnastics is the only sport where women are generally better than men at.
Volly ball.hands down I played on a team as the only guy We went undefeated that season..I was good but the girls were better. We defeated three all male teams. Plus tennis I actually agree. Males may have stronger back hands but the FEMS have overall better dexterity and stanima and coronation Overall anyway. Gym without a doubt as well. Synchronized swimming also. Soccor is 50/50
Gymnastics , screaming , pillow fight
I like the way you think!
Has anyone considered Mud Wrestling??
Not another toxic girls vs boys thread that will lead to
“You hate boys!” “You hate girls!” “Your sexist!” “No you!”
….Cringe level over nine thousand….

You know, there could be an argument made for Chess, even though Chess is not actually a sport. Chess is more about mental tactics and strategy and less about physicality, so women can compete with men there. Yes, it is true that the top 98 people in the world at Chess are men, but Hou Yifan (the highest ranked woman) is at a great place on number 99 and she can beat many of the men ranked below her. I think women can even get to the top 10 in chess but they just need more encouragement because there is a bit of sexism in chess, not much, but a bit. Judit Polgar beat dominant World Champion Garry Kasparov in a match and she beat many great men chess players, she is arguably the greatest female chess player of all time and she was a child prodigy who was beating top masters when she was a child.
How about playing golf?
Yes, it did cross my mind that women could be better than men at golf since golf isn't that much of a physically active sport where body anatomy of the sexes can lead to a disadvantage e.g. Football, Boxing, Tennis. However, I think golf requires some core strength and use of muscles because of the power drives and stuff...so on average with golf players, male golf players will have more strength than female golf players to hit the ball further so that can be an advantage to them. I mean, I will reconsider if I change my mind on this because you could be right, but at the moment I think men have the advantage on hitting the ball to further places on the golf course. But when it comes to golf shots that need less distance and require more near-accuracy because you can actually see the hole e.g. putter shots, then men golfers and women golfers can be on a more even playing field because less of strength is required and it is then more about accuracy, technique, precision and skill.
Other sports that women could be better than men in are archery, darts, skateboarding, shooting, Table Tennis.
Its well known that when it comes to the highest levels of skill, women don't even compare to men when it comes to skateboarding.
I'm pretty sure there isn't. There are professional sports where neither side has a significant advantage, but none that specifically favor women, that I know of.
Gymnastics is not the correct answer. Male bodies have a higher flexibility peak than female bodies.
