No

To elaborate, homophobic implies fear or outright hatred of homosexuals. Feeling uncomfortable when people are making out, or other things more intense than that, is just normal. There's nothing hateful, or derogatory, about it.

If you don’t hate/aren’t scared of homosexuals, then you’re not homophobic.

Even if it's only when seeing gay persons showing public affection, I'd say no.

Seeing gay persons doing things a heterosexual couple would do, if we are being honest with ourselves, isn't exactly a social norm. It's not something many are exposed to throughout their whole life.

I'm not homophobic, but I saw a gay couple kiss before and it made me feel a bit more uncomfortable than seeing a straight couple do it.

Nope. I feel a similar amount of discomfort seeing ugly people making out (although, I'm not particularly comfortable even when the couple are attractive).

@chris-sama:

Eh, I'm ok with that. I would add that being a really bad/sloppy kisser is probably worse to behold than them just being physically unattractive.

Not sure if I'd call it homophobia but it does show you're uncomfortable with PDA between homosexual couples for whatever reason.

Are you talking about gay porn or two same-sex publicly displaying affection? If it's the former, no because everyone has their own turn-ons and turn-offs. If it's the latter, possibly if you are not also uncomfortable when seeing two opposite sex people publicly displaying affection. Why are you okay with a guy and a gal holding hands, kissing or macking on each other, but not if it's two guys? How do you feel about girl-on-girl porn? Is that uncomfortable or "yeah, baby!"? Perhaps you're worried that you might wind up attracted to male-on-male intimacy and what that says about your own sexual nature.

No, it's just a sign it's not something you are personally into. For it to be homophobic would be to go over and demand they stop because you are uncomfortable and unable to look away for some reason.

@Penguin-Dust: The distaste for seeing homosexual behavior look a lot of things is based around what we expect men to do. We expect men to sleep with women. If a man exhibits behavior that deviates from that we find it innately disgusting, owning a sex toy or engaging in homosexual relationships being 2 clear examples.

Rationally no one is harmed if a man owns a sex toy or sleeps with another man but it's silly to think that people will ever naturally view these things as neutral so don't expect people to ever not feel disgust.

The female version is different, people are a lot more tolerant of women owning sex toys and women being in gay relationships because we have no innate expectations for women to seek out a man.

If I have trouble with anything it's the fact that an adult taught a child to say that to virtue signal.

Homophobic is used for anything and everything that could possibly be considered anti-gay. SO the word basically doesn't mean anything anymore. I was called homophobic because I didn't want to wear a pink shirt a friend bought me. I've been called homophobic because I support Donald Trump.

True homophobia I would say is basically the equivalent to racism but based on sexual identity. IDC what people do, just don't care about what I choose or choose not to do.

I voted no, but I really don't think it matters. So long as people keep their prejudices to themselves, no damage done.

Not if it is the display of affection rather than the interracial relationship.

Yes.

It's not about their color at that point, once the discomfort is based on their race, it's a symptom of prejudice which leads to discriminatory thought patterns and results in racist reactions.

@ancient_0f_days:

What if the person doesn't care that they are in a relationship, but simply doesn't want to see it? Your argument is based on the assumption that they think black/white people are inferior/superior, you are ignoring that some people are simply deeply unatracted to people of other races. If it were a black/white couple holding hands with their mixed child that made you uncomfortable, then that would be different. Cleaner cut. You shouldn't assume people all have the same cognitive reactions. Discomfort doesn't always mean disgust. Context matters.

I think it is sweet that you think that is the only possible conclusion. You have clearly not been corrupted by the reality of male escorting.

@namtab_god No. And don't let anyone tell you otherwise. You're allowed to feel how you feel. Not being comfortable with two guys making out doesn't mean you're homophobic. I think it's a free world and people are allowed to kiss whoever they want to kiss, but I also feel uncomfortable watching two guys make out.

With the way we are heading right now, it is just a matter of time before society considers sex industry as "family friendly",

So... (like what the "progressives" usually say about those people who still cling on the concept of "traditional family values"), ...stop impeding "progress".
