If the world could only have one religion exist, which one you want it be?
Either Buddhism or no religion. The rest, with the exception of Shinto (maybe, I have to reopen my Japanese myth book), are bound with evil.
@iron_tiger: how is christianity bound with evil?
@arthur_morgan: Is that a trick question?
@iron_tiger: no , im legit asking becouse i dont know.
@edamame: and was that done becouse jesus told them to do it?
@edamame: so its not really the religions fault but the human?
Shouldnt mormonism and catholicism fall under christianity?
not really. all have a different view on who and what god is and what and who jesus is.

I agree
@arthur_morgan: Ah, okay. Telling your child (my mother to me), "God is more important to me than you are," sounds pretty evil.

Satanism
What kind? Some believe Satan is pure evil & the prince of lies & choose to worship for that fact, others view Satan as a good angel who just tempts man to sin in order to test them & punish the wicked.
You should have posted this thread about 2 years ago, as the results are now biased; about 2 years ago, Christianity was the clear victor; and Catholic should be grouped with Christianity; but, now, many posters who voted can't post anymore, while the others are still here; otherwise, break the others up in their sub-sects. The one religion should be Christianity, as that's just prophecy.

That would be a very, very long list even with just Christianity alone, throw in the different sects of Jews & Muslims & whoa, that's gonna be a long list.

That was a bait post but I guess the second one
@dshipp17: I'm just curious. Would you say Non-Denominational Protestantism is the way to go in Christianity?

Christian denominations aren't actually Christian sects; only people outside of Christianity really make such claims as a stab against it; first, you have to separate that part of your understanding (e.g. Christian sects would basically be mainstream Christianity versus Catholicism versus Jehovah Witnesses versus Mormonism/Later Day Saints versus Seventh-day Adventists, where I reluctantly include Catholicism, versus Orthodox, where I also reluctantly include this, as I think Orthodox is actually apart of mainstream Christianity); and, sure, that was the point, when you brought up Judaism and Islam.
All Christian denominations that are accepted by the mainstream community would be the way to go, but, right now, I'm preferring to be a Baptist. Previously, when I was most recently in Seattle, which was in April 2008, I was apart of a non-denominational church (e.g. actually, this was when I was working, and, then, I attended a Church of Christ church; before the non-denominational church, I attended a Baptist church, when I first arrived into Seattle to early 2005). The only difference was that the non-denominational church celebrate with music and a choir, before service, while my Baptist church doesn't; hence, they're largely the same.
I look to see if there are any inconsistencies between the Bible and what the pastor is preaching. The Holy Spirit within me then allows me to discern the message for clear errors. It's literally like a real life Spidey Sense, but, it's more like your consciousness warning against something that you're planning to do which is likely the wrong thing to do.

not really. all have a different view on who and what god is and what and who jesus is.
Catholicism is Christianity. Christians believe there is only one God, but from what I understand Mormons believe in multiple gods and they have a different concept of God in that they believe God and Jesus are separate beings. Christians believe God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit are the same being.
There are differences between Christians such as Catholics believing the Eucharist is truly the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ under the appearance of bread and wine whereas many Christian denominations see the Eucharist mainly in symbolic terms.
The Catholic Church takes receiving Communion seriously:
1457 According to the Church's command, "after having attained the age of discretion, each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year."56 Anyone who is aware of having committed a mortal sin must not receive Holy Communion, even if he experiences deep contrition, without having first received sacramental absolution, unless he has a grave reason for receiving Communion and there is no possibility of going to confession.57 Children must go to the sacrament of Penance before receiving Holy Communion for the first time.58

The Catholic Church traces its roots back to Christ.

PART ONE
THE PROFESSION OF FAITH
SECTION TWO
THE PROFESSION OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH
THE CREDO
The Apostles Creed | The Nicene Creed |
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth. | We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and of all that is, seen and unseen. |
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. | We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven: |
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. | by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. |
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. | For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered died and was buried. |
On the third day he rose again. | On the third day he rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; |
He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead | he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. |
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. | We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. |
Christian denominations aren't actually Christian sects
That depends on the views of the individuals, some so called "Christians" are extremely prejudice against denominations that aren't theirs & don't consider other denominations Christians at all.
I like my church were everyone there is either mentally ill, a recovering drug addict or excommunicated from another church, mostly Mennonites & Catholics. Even the devil attends our church & everybody just gets along.
@iron_tiger: if god exist than he is more imprortant than anything.
you know they believe god exists thats why.
and its not like that means she doesnt love her kid.
And im pretty sure thats not meant in a bad way when a mother says it.
thats not really evil unless you mean she doesnt care for her son which is something this god she loves more would disagree with.
I have always liked the Idea of Pantheism. That everything everywhere is god. In a since, we are the Universe's (God's) way of discovering itself.
@arthur_morgan: It's a terrible thing to say to your child, or any child. "Hi. A fictional character from a book of stories written thousands of years ago, is more important to me than you are. Why? Because the bible says to think that."
@arthur_morgan: It's a terrible thing to say to your child, or any child. "Hi. A fictional character from a book of stories written thousands of years ago, is more important to me than you are. Why? Because the bible says to think that."
Any great lord is a servant to his people, if "God" wants us to love him more than our own children then it is an evil entity unworthy of worship.
@iron_tiger: ok but lets ignore everything else this god wants.
you have to take things really wide out of context to make god or jesus evil.
but its ok.
i mean what mother says it the way you make it look like ppl say it.
and i know no christian who actualy says it lol.
lol at jesus being even remotely evil.
a god who wants world peace is surely evil.
i mean you accept rules by random humans you dont even know and they dont even want world peace and just manipulate humans but yh, god is the evil one.
@arthur_morgan: "you have to take things really wide out of context to make god or jesus evil." -- Have you not read the Bible? There are multiple times "God" has shown evil.
@iron_tiger: for example?
@arthur_morgan: 1.1. God Creates Evil Regardless of Human Free Will. "I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the LORD do all these things." (Isaiah 45:7) Isaiah 45:7 affirms that God creates darkness and disaster. It is not a creation of mankind, nor of fallen beings or Satan. The Hebrew word here that is translated as "disaster" could also mean "wickedness", "hurt", "affliction" or "adversity."
Christian stomps
Wow I agree with you lol
@iron_tiger: thank you for proving my point about taking things out of context.
you cant simply sort out things and say “look here“.
how can you say god is evil when god encourages you to be good?
God created those things to test you.
he gave you free will to be evil or good , its up to you but god would prefer humans to be good for obviouse reason.
now i see were you come from.
have a nice day , seems pointless talking to you.
@arthur_morgan: Wow. What a load of dumbassery in your post. No wonder. I doubt you even know what context is.
@iron_tiger: says the guy who just quotes things without even knowing for what and why lmao.
i doubt you even know what being evil is to beginn with haha.
@arthur_morgan: You asked for an example of God being evil, and I obliged. Then you cried about it being out of context when context wasn't part of our discussion. Knowing the what and the why is irrelevant, not that I'd even care. But are you seriously that flat-headed to think I don't know what being evil is? You gave up because you couldn't counter that evil moment. So, here's another one...
"Psalm 104:27-30 notes that God sometimes makes animals happy and sometimes "terrifies them" as part of the daily rhythm of life as described in general by Psalm 104, although the King James Version nicely tones this down to "troubles" them."
And another...
"In Numbers 31:17 they are told to murder all the children amongst the enemies and any woman who might be pregnant."
Need more, kid?
