If God Told You to Kill Someone, Would You Do It?

Let's say God himself descends from the heavens before your very eyes, and for no particular reason he commands you to kill someone. An innocent person. Would you do it?

There's no catches or twists here. He simply wants you to kill someone, and that's all there is to it.

In this scenario, you know for a very fact that it is indeed God, and that it's not the devil, and you're not hallucinating or dreaming.

Would you obey God or disobey him?

I'd just believe I'm high off blow, or some shit.

Even if I believed that I was not hallucinating, or being tricked, or whatever, I'm not going to do something just because a supernatural entity presents itself and tells me to do it, especially if that thing is something I believe to be morally (not to mention legally) wrong.

Also, just because I know that it's really "God" (assuming the Judeo/Christian God) doesnt make me any more willing to do it. That particular god is known for committing genocide on a planetary scale, killing innocent people and children for arbitrary and immoral reasons, and so on.

Lol, well there are two Christians one who belies for convenience (Nah, God wouldn't do that) or the other who does whatever he thinks God asks (Kill one innocent? Nah, I'll kill everyone!) Jk, love you dad.

If God existed and did all the things he's done in the Bible, then he certainly wouldnt think twice about lying to you. I mean, this whole Heaven/Hell thing, how do you know that's all true? Cause the Bible says so? The Bible is either just a bunch of stories made up by men, or it was made up by God. Men lie, and god is an egotistical genocidal tyrant who forces people to bow before him by threat of eternal torture.

The number comes from people God either killed himself or someone killed because God told them to. It also doesnt include things like the flood because there's no solid numbers (but estimated millions) or the deaths of all first-born Egyptians (hundreds of thousands).

Knowing it is God so to speak is still a matter of belief. People can make w/e statement they want about 'you know this is God' but there is absolutely no way for any being to prove such a thing. Therefore I just tell this being to go kill whoever it is himself and move on with my day. We are always free to come to our own conclusions about anything.

I also don't believe (for many reasons to numerous to get into, that it can't be taken as a word for word historical document).. I do however believe that the fundamental message is true. I'll also say that IF all the bad stuff he was supposed to have done in the Old Testament is true (and the Noah story isn't just one of many myths that were invented to account for the massive flood that happened sometime during that era, and referenced in many mythological stories of the time) Even if God did in fact destroy the Earth with water for whatever reason He deemed fit, since the New Covenant (and explaining that is another long thing to get into) God sent Jesus to redeem everyone of their sin and doesn't take a direct hand in it any longer.

So...no, the God I believe in wouldn't do that.
