If a Church full of people was shot up, would YouTube put a Christian Flag next to the it's logo?

There was a shooting in a Christian church last year, but that resulted in nine deaths. The Orlando shooting resulted in 50 deaths total. Huge difference. Also, the shooter targeted the church because he was more than likely racist.

Now, if 50 people were killed in a Christian church and were targeted because they were Christian, would YouTube put a cross or something by their logo? Hard to say. A lot of Christians may have a massive persecution complex (despite being extremely privileged), but at the end of the day, Christians are not a marginalized group. Period.

Christians aren't a minority group, gays are. There are also other factors such as media coverage and the scale of the fatalities. Also, why does it matter? If it really annoys you so much to see mourning victims supported, what does that say about you as a person?

We should show sympathy, concern, and prevent tragedies like this. Regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, race etc.

I doubt they would. I guess it'd be too complicated and risky. Some people would probably see it as a promotion of religion and of course be offended by it. A rainbow heart is much simpler I guess.

Media and social networks has a tendency to value minorities more when it comes to events such as this so no they wouldn't put a cross.

This type of thing happens to Christians and churches all of the time, on a daily basis all over Muslim majority areas; and, last year, a Christian church was shot up, just about exactly the same time, one year ago; and YouTube didn't do anything similar; what happened was all networks hosted a church sermon on that Sunday and the media attention was over; but this event is still taking up major media space over a week later. So, do we actually take this as a real sign of solidarity by YouTube?

No. Popular media and the loudest voices on the internet and TV could not care less for Christians.

Maybe if it got as much attention as the Pulse shooting.

Calm yourself. The reason I said that is because a shooting with a higher death toll is more likely to get attention from the media and such.

50,000 Christians were killed or migrated from Iraq following the Bush invasion and civil war that followed...yes FIFTY Thousands of them. It's even worse now that ISIS or Daesh started its violence and chopping the heads off minorities in the region

Gays were thrown off buildings for years in the Middle East, people were executed for blasphemy in Muslim nations, jailed for apostasy, jailed and executed for being gay in Islamic Middle Eastern countries
