@spareheadone: if that's true than your the fastest man in the world if you could run 40 yards in 3.1

I might be wrong because I don't know if it was with

Fat timing or hand timed?

I have a question was

You can just do the conversion:

40 yards = 36.576 meters

100 meters / 36.576 meters = 2.73403324584

4.56 seconds x 2.73403324584 = 12.467191601 seconds

Therefore, it'd take 12.467191601 seconds for a person with a 4.56 40 yard dash to run 100 meters

But in reality it's not that simple, top speed is more of a factor over 100 meters whereas explosiveness is what's being evaluated over 40 yards. Also the clock on the 40 yard dash starts when the runner takes off, unlike the 100 meter dash for which the clock starts independently and then the runners take off. The math likely gets more complicated if you want to delve into it, but in reality it's hard to translate one of these activities to the other

@the_magister: thank you I have another question what does a late 4.4 second 40 yard dash translate to in the 100 meters with no block what I mean is what does a 4.48 second 40 yard dash translate to in the 100 meters?

@sonicftl: 4.48 second 40 yard dash over 100 meters. Same conversion:

40 yards = 36.576 meters

100 meters / 36.576 meters = 2.73403324584

4.48 seconds x 2.73403324584 = 12.2484689414 seconds

Again though, it's not a direct translation due to a plethora of factors. If your goal is to run a decent time in either one of these, I wouldn't get too caught up in 40 yard dash to 100 meter sprint conversions

I also fell over at one of the pads so I would have been faster

A full second faster than the fastest 40 ever recorded. I hope someone was recording you.

@sonicftl: @lightordark:

I was filmed and it was sent to a lab to verify that the film was not altered.

When I went to the lab a few weeks later the head technician told that a squirrel had come in through the roof and eaten the footage.
