How would you react if you found out that you were being raised by your parents to be eaten by demons?

That was one of the original plot points of this manga that I'm reading, Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's manga "The Promised Neverland" . The story is about a bunch of orphans being raised in good welfare by a woman called "Mother" in an orphanage. Said orphans are always carefully monitored within the orphanage's vicinity, thus a low chance of escaping. Instead of actually being adapted by outsiders by the time some children leave "Mother"'s care, the orphans are instead being secretly offered as food to a bunch of demons. Thus,the two of the main characters who find out about it accidentally are forced to find out a way on how to get the other orphans away safely from the orphanage.

@jashugan: For a shounen, yeah, it's far better written than most other titles in it's genre.

Reminds me a little bit of a character called Killgrave from X-men TAS of the 90s, except he was raising the mutant children to be an invasion force to return the subjection and unfairness to humans after the would be invasion. Couldn't happen to me with God on my side and my special connection with God; I'd think that I was possibly being raised to turn against good and side with evil; I think that was very possible, given my actual path, except things went wrong at critical points; almost like that saying best made plans clashing with Murphy's Law when you're trying to oppose God. And I only recently put that together given the tension that I always felt when I returned to my mother for about of year of junior high and then high school, and, then, more recently.
