I was thinking of saving up for a gaming computer and I'm 16 but I was thinking should I even bother to get one? I know it's better than consoles and everything but am I just getting to old for a gaming computer and gaming in general to an extent? Anyone have a gaming PC and play on it daily? Should I really invest in one or should I just stick to console since in two years I'll be getting ready for college and what not.

There is no age. I'm 23 with a career and I still play games on the computer. Trust me, save up some cash, drop $1500 on a custom built gaming rig, and you'll be blown away by the quality. You can even hook it up to the t.v and a controller and play it that way if you want.

Plus, you'll need a computer for assignments and what not right? Can you type a paper on a console? I thought not!

@thitiki: Some people are dumb. Look, if you wanna spend 600 every 3 years to play Call Of Honor: Modern Battle Duty every year then be my guest. But you will get soo much more value on a $1200 gaming computer. Because not only do you have a far wider selection of games, you also have all the benefits of a computer, which you can upgrade every few years. Honestly, it's a wicked investment.

I have one, and I'd say it's a very worthy investment. And you're too old for games when you have to wear a wristband with your address imprinted on it whenever you go outside.

One is never too old. I know some guys in their sixties who have grandchildren and still play games and I don't mean old games, they actually have wheel peripheral accessories to play Gran Turismo with and everything. Games are like everything, you do it as long as you enjoy it and as long as it doesn't endanger your health or negatively impact some other aspect of your life, more the power to you.

No age limit. Gaming is a hobby like any other. Keep playing if you want too, just don't sacrifice the rest of your life. That goes for any hobby/age.

Why care about everyone else opinion? If you enjoying playing video games continue to enjoy them until you're six feet under, that's what I intend on doing.

Also invest in a gaming PC, I realized with the new console releases that they aren't worth the money for just a couple of exclusives.

@JetiiMitra: No gaming is pretty much considered like films here. They're treated as pretty universal.

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to spend 1200 dollars on a gaming rig. Do your research before building a computer or you'll end up overspending. My rig that I built costs around 500 dollars and it can play Crysis 3 on highest settings at a smooth frame rate.

Only people who know nothing about computers spend 1200 on a gaming rig.

I'll most likely stop in my early 20's. Gaming for the most part has lost my interest there are better things to do with my life and in college I don't really need gaming as a possible distraction.

There's no age limit, but it's kind of weird if you're thirty and not playing with your kids, but by yourself. Odds are if you're doing that you probably still live in your mother's basement. :/

Someone had to say it.

I like all games. In all honestly I liked a lot of older games from 2005 and back way more than new ones. Only a select few have stuck with me, most being franchises like Mass Effect.

Except you could do both. It's not like you always have to play with your kids or vice versa.

Yeah, I know a guy who's thirty something and he plays games in between working and spending time/minding his kids.

I don't think there is an age but some people can be judgmental about other peoples hobbies if it doesn't conform to their ideas. Also, sometimes you just outgrow things or find the need to do something different, its not really because you are too old for it, if you really love it, you'll go back to it eventually.

I play video games with my kid, not all the time but just because you play video games doesn't mean that's all you do. Sometimes I'll go a whole week without touching one, but that also doesn't mean I get any less enjoyment from it.

I saw a 70 year old guy borrow a Xbox 360 game from the library this week, it was awesome. Might have been for a grandchild or something, but I like to think it was for himself. :P
