Generally speaking do Puerto Ricans want Puerto Rico to become a state?

Or would that just totally suck?

I'm pretty sure a lot of Hawaiians weren't too happy about statehood.

They've consistently voted on the issue, but have yet to vote for statehood.

The main reason that Puerto Ricans who are against statehood oppose statehood is that if they become a state, their chance of becoming an independent country is pretty much gone. But by the end of our lifetime, Puerto Rico will most likely be the 51st state.
