Final Fantasy 7 - remake official

I have to ask, am I the only one saddened a little by this?

I don't know why. Maybe it's because, for me, creativity in media seems to be dying as of late (almost everything is a reboot) and this was just closer to my heart than others. This has really just struck a certain level of poignancy for me.

Any strong opinions anyone?

I don't see the point in remaking FF7 other than as cash grab.

I see no problem with them remaking ff7 under these conditions

Sony needed to pull out the big guns. I honestly think they've been holding back a FF7 remake until they needed the money.

But why do we need a remake?!

Look at how successful 10HD was, I wouldn't be surprised if 7 outsold that by a much larger margin. People are gonna by ps4's for this game.

They are making it because you f-ing nerds are going to buy it... Just like how they are still crapping out more Transformer movies that you watch........ "Oh Final Fantasy Seven, I know that is a thing. I'm going to buy that $#!%, and make a review about it on Youtube about how much it sucks." Final Fantasy Twelve was better. Cloud wish he could be half as cool as Balthier........ He is a mother f-ing sky pirate and he has a gun, and an ebony bunny woman in S&M gear who sounds like Bjork..... (Drops mic)

Personally I don't think FF7 translate well with high quality graphics. FF7 was cartoony at times and that is part of what made it memorable.

The only thing I'm sad about is that we have to wait a long to time to play it. I'd like this to be an action/rpg, but that's an unpopular opinion. I hate taking turns, but I'll do it for this game.

I don't see the problem with this, or how or why this is a bad thing.

Is Square Enix canceling XV because of this?...are they canceling the Final Fantasy series after this?....are they closing shop after they release this game or something?

For some reason people view a game being rooted in its own time a bad thing. I don't. That game was what the industry needed at the time. I just don't see how many of the elements will translate over at all. I mean the story beats can't be the same as they have all been so absorbed into pop culture (you now the one I mean....).

Don't get the appeal at all.

See now they are going to be voiced, and as someone mentioned half of the characters will be DLC or gamestop pre-order bonuses or some such malarkey.

Im pretty excited, the game is old enough. I just really wish it was FF6. FF7 is already milked to death, but ill still love playing it again in HD.
