My favorite is Heavy Metal although out of the choices I guess Rock is the closest. I also like Classical and Soundtrack. The others I don't really listen to

Depends on what im doing. R&B or hip hop (90s stuff only) if I'm driving or rock if I'm drawing.

Alternative Pop. My favorite albums are Death of the Bachelor, Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die and Pray for the Wicked. (Big fan of Panic at the Disco/Brandon Urie)

Where's metal? Without it it's either electronic or rock.

I love 80's Rock, with certain Metal bands right behind.

However I also deeply love 50's Doo Wop, with a passion. You can not listen to 50's Doo Wop and not feel happy!

Also a shout out to certain Blues singers!

I chose rock because it's the closest of the options you put but actually my favorite genre is old school metal

Metal is considered a subgenre of rock and it's my favorite!

@infinitehope: every single soundtrack in the Witcher 3. That game was pretty close to a perfect game. My favorites there are Gaunter's theme and Hunt or be Hunted. I can't remember the titles but I also liked some soundtracks in Bleach and Seven Deadly Sins anime

Calling metal a subgenre of Rock is a bit of a stretch. True, Metal's conception was heavily influenced by Rock, but if we go by that logic, Rock itself was heavily based on Rock and Roll, which was in turn largely influenced by Jazz, R&B, and other genres, but you'd probably agree that most of these genres are their own thing at this point.

I originally had Metal as it's own genre but then doing research I saw music genres put as subgenres, and then just had to choose where to hold the line because I think this would have been a massive list otherwise.
