@tomlikesfries: I think "best of" albums are fine. The Very Best of the Doors is an album I enjoy a lot. My only gripe is that it doesn't include "Not to Touch the Earth," which I think is one of The Doors' best songs.

It doesn't include "The End" either, which is Apocalypse Now's theme song. But, yeah, it's a great collection.

Contra by Vampire Weekend

Which you mentioned is also dope :p

Contra is amazing. That was the epitome of my indie phase. I don't really like indie music anymore, but I still enjoy that album. Same goes for Wolfgang Amadeus by Phoenix. If you haven't listened to that, I highly recommend you do.

@ryagan: Their self titled album was the peak of their career IMO. It's got some truly great tracks. Speaking of Vampire Weekend, I also quite enjoy their latest album Modern Vampires of the City.

Same goes for Wolfgang Amadeus by Phoenix. If you haven't listened to that, I highly recommend you do.

I'll check it out.
