Can power transform a person into something she/he's not?

Depends on the kind it of power. Power definitely can corrupt people though.

I think it can a lot of the time. A large reason why some people are "good" is because they don't have to suffer the consequences of their negative actions. If you're powerful enough you can use your influence and money to avoid these consequences.
