Do you guys prefer capitalism, socialism, or communism?
Almost every government on earth is a mix of capitalism and socialism so NOT communism would be my answer. Command economies don't work well.
Never communism. A lot of countries are run with a combination of capitalism and socialism. So probably both capitalism and socialism.
Communism because I like getting a hundred angry responses.
You aren't gonna get any angry responses after saying that, lol.
@moonman2: You never know. When Americans see the word communism, they just see red. Well, technically, communism is red, but you get what I mean.
Capitalism, with more social safety nets, particularly in healthcare and education.
I do not believe that a pure socialist system will be preferable, nor that it can sustain itself, and function on a large scale, as that has never happened before. Ditto for communism, as it is a more extreme form of socialism.
@theinsufferable: Which Americans? The rednecks in the south, the mexican-americans in the south west, the rich wall street elite, the farmers in the midwest, the crips and bloods in the cities, or maybe the college lefties wearing shirts with the hammer and sickle?
It's so absurd to try and put all Americans into some box.

Eh, America does it for other countries all the time, and it seems to work fine for them.
Anyhow, only one post after explicitly declaring I'm trying to get people angry for fun and the message is already lost? I love how everything's fun and games here until it comes to matters of left and right.
I kind of like what we have in America now which seems to be Capitalism with a mix of Socialism. Big No on Communism though.
I’m pro capitalism, but I’d like a greater social safety net than what we currently have in the states.
In survival setting and times of extreme scarcity, society have no other choice but to resort to communal ownership.
In such situations, everythings should be shared by all to ensure mutual survival.
Important and rare resources should be rationed and focus-manage to address and fix the more pressing priority problems.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In times of abundance and prosperity, private ownership become accessible on the individual level.
People can decide it for themselves how they will use their private properties and resources to enrich themselves and pursue their own individual dreams and happiness without having some self-righteous busybodies telling them how they should live their lives or how they should spend their hard earned wealth
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In short, flexible and adaptable economy is the best economy in my opinion.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now with regards to Communism, that pipe dream only exist in fictions and in the mind of ignorant armed-chair economists.
@darthsuper: capitalism work? This is the why most of the people in us are poor????
Most people in the US aren't poor. They lack the funds to sustain a lifestyle they believe they deserve due to laziness or poor decision making. Plus they abuse the hell out of the safety net.
communism
Any reasons?

Better than a dictatorship or what's happening in Africa.
@darthsuper: capitalism work? This is the why most of the people in us are poor????
Also... that's bs.

If I have to choose one of the three I must say without hesitation: socialism. Yet I am liberal, but capitalism, without any social concern, is too close to fascism and communism, without any respect for private property, is too frustrating.
I also believe that we are making a bad case against communism. I don't consider it to be an abherent ideology, but each time a communist regime came into being it was a dictatorship that used ideology as a populist pretext.
As an American, I think democratic socialism with a combination of some capitalism would be my preference. I'd place my preference somewhere in-between communism and a social democracy on the political spectrum. A leftist government is a good place to start but not too left. I would like an economy that expands on the European Union's model of government (and yes, I am being general with my geography lol). I like certain capitalist societies but ones that place rules on big business' that support the working class, protect clients of big business' from getting screwed over and where wage is fairly distributed throughout the working class.
A lot of Bernie Sanders' views are compatible with my preference in regards to the titled question of this thread.
