Yesterday i saw a beggar carefully pull up a iPhone 5 from his pocket, is this an illegal act? It's like they are lying for money when they already have it..
Do you give money to beggars?
I don't really have any money, so not most of the time. My father has a habit of buying two piece meals for the beggars outside of our local KFC though.
Once i gave a beggar R$:100 . One week later, he started working as the cleaning guy of a local hotel.

There are some beggars who are not actually homeless. you can make alot of money begging if you are in the right areas.
I gave a beggar $20 dollars and my friend was like "Dude, most of them bullsh*t.". Probably not word for word, but that was the gist. So I stopped giving money to beggars. Only the homeless and the people who ask for charity get my money!
I do when I have the money for it. There are a lot of pretenders in Georgia, which pisses me off, but God said help thous who ask for help, so yeah.
This.
I usually just buy them McDonald's if I can, but if not, then I give them all the money I have in my car, and a church in my town just organized an event yesterday where he got a group of people from the church or anyone interested to spend a few nights on the street to understand the struggle. They also donated a lot of money to the homeless.
No. I actually used to believe that the people that begged for money were homeless here in Norwary. I used to give them before all the time when I was a child, but now, I've seen the truth about them.
It's probably better to give money to a local soup kitchen or something like that, that way the money is more likely to go to the actual needy than possible fakers.
Beggars? Nope. Strippers? Yes.
I applaud you sir
If they are in a condition that could cause them to be unable to work to look after themselves, yes.
Occasionally, but it really depends on whether I have dollar bills with me and the person actually looks homeless and not faking. For example, my step dad once gave a hundred bucks to some dude in a wheelchair with no legs with a sign asking for change in the freezing cold winter weather in a snowstorm and with no jacket on. My step dad told him to get a motel room and some food. Some people really need some help.
No, begging is a cowardly way to live.
The Greek philosopher who lived in a barrel would disagree.
I don't have any where I live, but back home there are tonnes. I give them something each and every time.
@ccraft: how can he disagree if he is dead!?!?
I like to give them money, or buy them a pie, or just stop and talk to them for a bit. You get a lot of junkies where I live so you gotta be careful, but some of the legit ones are really sweet. I don't really have anything, most I've ever got in my pocket at the minute is like a tenner, but I'm going home to a warm bed and they're most likely not, so I do what I feel is right.
Also my dad has a rule where he only gives to women. He says they're more vulnerable out on the street, and they need it more.
Depends. If they give me a cigarette when I ask then I give them a hefty amount. If they ask me for a cigarette while they're smoking one, I look at them very harshly.
If it's a guy just hangin out, yes I'll give him some cash.
If he/she is cold, I'll remember to bring an old jacket. They're still people, I just hate beggars
