How big is the crocodile? Is it an African or Australian salt water croc? Fresh water croc? Makes a lot of difference.

Grizzly without a doubt

Better mobility, plus it has more ways to attack the crocodile on land

Depends on the size of the Crocodile. A human can defeat a 5 footer bare handed on land (crocodiles are clumsy on land). Now if if it's a 2 ton saltwater Crocodile it can have a chance.

Bear stomps even a small bear, A human can be taught to wrestle down and tire out a croc...

Bear flips him over and eats his belly.

Grizzly but it’s probably gonna lose a limb if it isn’t fast/careful enough.

The bear is to big for the crocodile's tactics to work on land.

Bear stomps even a small bear, A human can be taught to wrestle down and tire out a croc...

That involves using a lot of pressure points and technical skills IIRC.

Bear wins unless it’s the croc from lake placid, lol.

Obviously the crocodile. Just blitzes and grapples onto its neck with its mouth and then keeps on twisting, into the water. Its game over for the bear.

@jashro44: Bears can stoop and swipe which is why they can easily catch small fish in a running river. One paw swipe and the Croc is finished. Crocodiles drown their prey or break their necks with their jaws. On land the bear has the clear advantage.

Wait were u already saying bear wins??

@jashro44: Sure you mostly have to be trained. But, the reason wrestling crocs on land work because crocs have low stamina. They often save energy by just laying there and sleeping or prenteding to sleep in the water until a meal wonders along. Most non aquatic land animals including humans can’t hold their breathe for that long and it only takes a bit of water to actually make you choke and drown.

Once the small bear or human jumps on a gators back or drags the croc/gator by the tail onto the land. You could easily make it tire out by keeping his jaw shut.

@mickey-mouse: Yea I think the bear wins. I was just saying humans fighting crocodiles has to do with knowledge on there anatomy and technique. I don't know if a 300lb guy that doesn't know what he is doing can beat a croc.

@jashro44: Definitely not, but a small bear would have natural instinct and people on the other hand have to be taught.

I don't know if a small bear would have the instincts but I don't think it matters. Even small Grizzlies are massive. Unless its a cub the croc has no chance against the size and weight of the bear.

@kalkent: How about you make the crocodile the largest ever recorded which was 6 metres long (20ft in Americano measuring) and 1000kgs (2300pounds) since you're making the grizzly massive.

I'm sure the grizzly still wins but lets put the croc in the upper category too

I’m pretty sure 9 ft isn’t the largest grizzly ever recorded. Anyway, Bear stomps.
