Common to play Green Lantern John Stewart ?

I read on a Hip Hop site that rapper Common may play as the Green Lantern John Stewart in the Justice League movie. What are your thoughts on Common playing a Green Lantern or a Superhero period ?

Can he act? If so, great. I watched about 5 minutes of Usher's cheesy, cringe-inducing last movie today and felt compelled to damage my tv. And I like my tv.

He played a hitm,an in Smokin Aces and did a believable job. I was expressed. He also plays an assassin in the new Angelia movie Wanted. I think he will do well in the the role.
