WHERE DID EVERYBODY GO???? :(
Comicvine is DYING
This site kind of died when Tony left. The wiki content and podcast's just weren't the same after that. User's started to slowly seep away after that. It's kind of sad that such a great site died to quickly. Regardless, there still is a lot of amazing content that is still here so at least even though maybe the content here might not be as good as it used to be, at least the content that was the best was still here. Let's hope CV improves in the future and gets from website trafficking and better content like it used to be.
Probably, but I'll ride the wave to the shore.
Forums are still alive and the wikis are still solid. News here has always been somewhat of a joke as this was normally the last place I would see things.

A good captain always goes down with the ship.
I only come here for the forums. I go to reddit r/marvel r/DCcomics and r/comicbooks to comment on the post as well. The only downside on Reddit is that if you have an opposing opinion, you are getting that downvote hammer lol.
Side note: Do you guys know any other active forums that discuss comic books? Besides, Reddit and Comicvine of course.
You have less than a hundred posts.....this is the second time this week someone with less with a hundred posts complained about this.
What comicvine needs is to do what it did a few years ago. More comic reviews and not a heavy movie review focus, BATTLES OF THE WEEK especially, and the whole topic specific threads ruin the off topic section.

Not going to happen. The one staff we got to work on articles spends all his time writing for the parent company Gamespot and it's how they want it. If the site is to have any chance it's going to have to be user contributions but nobody seems to be interested doing anything beyond talking about it.
It would be great if we could convince staff to let certain contributions to the front page but I don't see that happening so the best bet is to get a MOD on your side and sticky certain articles for a short period of time.
I don't know why people are pretending the site isn't dying. Just because it's a slow death doesn't mean it's not a death. It's been getting worse and worse. I guess some people would just rather stick their head in the sand.
Still I'll be here until the site closes and I hope others will go down swing with me.
-----------------------------------
Edit: I feel users are partly at fault for not posting more when article were posted on the front page. Some of them hardly got any posts which devalued that section of the site.

The battle forum died when Killemall and Saren left.
Oh god yes!
Boy was he an awesome viner.
I think the fact that you can't curse is really holding back this website. I would visit it a lot more if I could curse. Typing on this website is like talking with a bunch of children because I have to watch out what I say and it's creepy.
You can't curse but you can't show almost naked characters and R rated comic book pictures. 'Murica's laws in a nuthsell.
@major_hellstorm: Literally what I was thinking as well. I don't get it either.

Tony left? too? I know Sava left, but Tony?

Yes, it's really sad and is a dying point for the site.
@dernman: it could happen, we just need someone in the position to do so to step up. There are plenty of qualified people to write comic reviews and comicvine should contribute to do reviews, art pics of the week, battles of the week, or anything that would bring life to the site. Any moderator that is reading a comic can write a review and post it on the front page, or pick thier favorite art out of the recently published comics. Small little changes like that would be huge.
Instead of having moderators worry about deleting duplicate post, or post that should go on a specific topic thread, they should start trying to put life in the site with reviews, site wide polls, art pics of the week, battles of the week, interviews and insider information etc... if people are talking on a thread and having a conversation who cares what thread it should/could go on. Moderators shouldn't have to spend the majority of thier time moderating in a way that prevents people from rehashing topics or having to transition to another thread disrupting the conversations. Pointless work on thier part they can use to make the site better.

What are you talking about? You can curse. You just can't say one particular word or direct your curse at someone on the forum.

There has been plenty of time and opportunity for someone to step up but none really have. Several Mods have said there was talk of helping out but there wasn't even interest in user participation to anything.
