ComicVine is being POLLUTED by "Ask Me" threads!!!

As of late, there has been a mass-outbreak of "ask me" threads that are rapidly appearing all over the Off-Topic forums. It started as a minor trend, but today these "ask me" pests are multiplying by the minute! Lately the forums have been overcrowding, but THIS is just ridiculous!

WHO WILL SAVE US FROM THIS GLOBAL DISASTER?!?????? Somebody must put an END to these threads!

.....and ask me a question if you want to.

They get popular for a while and then they go away, it's cyclical...and LOL.

Three threads were created on the same day. Mine was created 6 days before. Another was created a month ago. And the others have been around since last year.

Eh I know this is a joke thread, but there are probably going to be a few posters who see this thread who didn't realize that you bumped a lot of those question threads to create that effect, and probably going to be a few posters who have been at CV for a long time who want to create a Question thread but also don't want to annoy people and will be dissuaded. I like questions thread, its a nice way to learn about other posters. Obviously its bad when we have 20 on the first page, but seeing as though some people bump them so they can make a joke thread.... =p

Most people otherwise won't create a thread if there are too many going on, they'll wait a few days or weeks.

You should definitely definitely make one, would be cool. Just maybe not in the next ten mins heh heh.

You know in a way I do think they count as spam. For users not familiar with people the off-topic section with "ask me ask me" is not very appealing.

The way I see it is that this is going to be a survival of the fittest thing. The stronger ask me threads continue to prosper and the weaker ones get lost in cyberspace.

@humanrocket: Respect threads are useful in the battle forums and generally stay on a characters own forum. Ask me threads hog the 1st page of a variety forum (Off Topic, GD, and so on).

It would be great if there could be a sub forum, but eh, question threads are like other threads, if they fade they fade. They at least encourage interaction between fans of fiction.
