thanks man
Code to watch clear youtube videos.
yeah, this trick has been around for a while...
you can add &fmt=6 or &fmt=18 (10 points to anyone that spots the FMT-FraMeraTe code lol) to the end of a video link now which gives you a H.264 encoded clip at 480×360 resolution, useful if you're using Firefox to actually download the videos for offsite using, but bewarned, using the FMT=18 trick you will generally get the video with a bitrate up to 850K, this may look cool but can cripple your bandwidth if you use it too much on dialup or ADSL...

Supreme Marvel says:
"Sparda says:"Do we post the vid code here and see if it made a difference?"Try. am not sure if it works that way."
No, the full embed code doesn't work yet but the YouTube site will be moving to FMT18 in the fall, so all video's will be in h.264 instead of the FLV code they currently use...

Try. am not sure if it works that way.
Without the code
with the code
&fmt=18Am not sure if we'll see a difference in this.

"TheSinisterMissMort says:"I can't see the difference."there isn't in the embeded video's, and i think it will only work properly if you have a H.264 codec already on your computer, but i'm not sure about that as i haven't actually seen any of their new code...

What do you mean by 'embeded'? Does that mean that vids ripped from the sight would of better quality?

no, i mean watching the videos on youtube you'll be able to see the difference, but if you use the code to put the video on another site, like 'embedding' it on the forums here, the code doesn't work...

I just added the extra code to the end of a vid and saw no difference, but I may not have that codec you were talking about.
