Challenge a viner

Wouldn't it be cool to challenge a viner on any topic? Identical to the type they have in the battle forum. Except instead of characters in a battle, you can have anything other than characters, such as topics and stances on topics, in specified context.

For example:

Atheism vs Theism, which is better in the context of betterment of society or betterment for an individual living in society.

Thus you can defend any stance against another stance in a specified context.

This sounds really good to me as it encourages more healthy and meaningful debating and would attract more debaters as well as activity and popularity.

Nope, belongs in off-topic, as it doesn't inherently have to be about comic/manga related topics(hence the OP's inclusion of "Theism vs Atheism").

@streak619: pretty sure you just need the other person’s approval to start a CaV. But mod’s approval doesn’t hurt.

No this is belongs in Off Topic and yes you can make a CaV of this nature as long as it abides the rules. Knock yourselves out.

Word to the wise though, keep it civil. Make sure people stick to the topic and not get personal. You can always tag a mod if things get heated.

@bumpyboo: Would racism as a topic suffice as a discussion/debate?

@lowlaville: Interesting question. Know we already have a dedicated thread for race issues, but a debate would be something a little different so, there's an argument for it there. On the other hand, it's one of those (understandably) hot-button topics, people can get very energetic about it, hehe.

@wildvine: I mean, look at how the CaV in the battle forums is. Plus this has far more potential because unlike in the battle forums, the voters need to know atleast one of the characters to a good extent and ideally both. Meaning only fanbases of the two verses can participate in votes.

But here, there is no such thing as fanbases, there is no limitation to the voters, literally everybody who knows the definition of atheism and theism could vote in an atheism vs theism CaV for instance.

@streak619: But not everyone is interested in watching a debate. Plus if its a lively debate than it will be bumped plenty anyway

However there are peoplw who might argue if so called reverse racism is a thing.

@seagod: what do you mean by that? That racism is racism regardless or that reverse racism isn’t a thing because white people cant face racism?
