Can't take it anymore

Just going to rant a little before logging out and leaving this site for good.

I've always enjoyed a good debate with a fellow comic/anime/fiction fan. I came to this site with the initial hope to engage in fun or educational debates with like-minded individuals but instead found a lot of things that actually made me want to just stay away from this site. Here's a few examples:

1. There's a disturbing fixation on anime battles here; which is fine and all but it goes overboard really fast. Like, you can present the most reasonable argument aimed at educating and yet you'll get replies like "lol no, this character stomps verse gg". Most of the people here seem to can't leg go of their biases long enough to actually read up on the character and consider how it truly measures up in a battle. Which brings me to my second point.

2. Naruto is constantly brought up and wanked to no end. Like some people actually think some of the characters in Naruto can solo the entirety of Bleach. Or that Naruto can beat Goku??? These same people also don't seem to understand what attack potency means.

3. Debates tend to go out of track and devolve into personal attacks that have nothing to do with the topic. Resorting to insults and the classic "end of discussion" line really shows the level of close mindedness of some people here.

4. A lot of people don't even present arguments and just reply "solos" or "stomps". These same people also can't seem to accept any kind of argument you present.

That's only a few but you guys get the gist. I'm sorry if it might seem offensive to some of you. With that out of the way, good luck to all of you. Live long and prosper.

Well that's what happen when you have wrong expectations.

You shouldn't expect to win in a debate or to "educate" anyone.

Just say your piece and declare yourself the winner.

Then you just move on in life like nothing happened.

And if you have a problem with fans then you can always just...idk not respond to them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion after all. As long as you know the true facts and stats for a character then you don’t have to entertain others with arguments and pointless debates that will be no winner.

This man has a great point. Or woman-? Even so when I joined, there is a heavy emphasis on the HST or DB. While i love making threads like that, it becomes very tiresome when i do bring a new character up or even an old one into a matchup and no one reads the history or doesn't care.

Many people here do come off rude quite a bit too. But most of it is straight trash talk so I wouldn't focus or like 90% of it.

Still I joined to have fun and love making battle threads. Anime or not. I have so many battle ideas in my head that I feel I have to share. So cheer up pal and ignore the threads you feel are weighting you down.
