Better Movie: The Matrix or Terminator 2: Judgment Day?
@mrmonster: thanks for the tag! I think T2 is better. I've always found Matrix pretty bland outside of the action sequences. T2 is enjoyable through and through.
The Martix.

That's not true.

Glad you didn't find it bland.
@theamazingspidey: Matrix is one of the best cyberpunk movies of all time. I am not going to dig into that just to make feel u more incomprehensible about it.

I'm aware a lot of people love it. I'm not one of those people.
Matrix for me.
It's funny because at their core, they are both franchises about Artificial Intelligence rising up and overtaking civilization. Terminator does it by going back in time to kill the threat before it ever becomes a problem. The Matrix has already turned us into batteries and pulled the wool over man's eyes. That always just resonated with me more. That and the action, of course.
Terminator 2 : Judgment Day has been my favorite film for years now. The Matrix was really good but honestly I don't think The Matrix was as good as The Terminator let alone Terminator 2 which I feel is the Crown Jewel of Cinema.
I thought Terminator was better and more iconic but Matrix really caught on and seemed to become just as iconic, as soon as it came out and within just a couple of years of its release. But, having the opportunity to watch them both, I preferred Terminator; just closer to the type of movies that I grew to like.
Matrix was a much better revolution of sci fi but I blame it for every movie using crappy slow Mo in action scenes for like 10 years.
Leaning slightly towards The Matrix. Both films tackle the whole rise of Artificial Intelligence. The Matrix does off more than just man vs machine with its themes of choice, freedom of choice and peoples dependence on “the system”, whereas T2 doesn’t go too deep with those messages, and really just plays out more like a “grab you by the neck non-stop ride” action film. They are two stories about destiny and if it’s inevitable, but I feel like with The Matrix a lot of its themes can be applied to society out the confines of the world that was built in the fictional movie, so it give it a slightly advantage over T2 imho. T2 was/is an important turning point for visual FX’s in film is still to this this day arguably the greatest action movie of all time.
Matrix was a better movie to me because going into it I didn't know what the matrix was about and I really got into the story it was new in ideas when it can to story t2 was good to but u can tell how it will end
Def. leaning towards The Matrix here.
T2 is more fun and probably better paced, but I think Matrix is better sci-fi in that it's far more interesting in its exploration of themes and concepts like freedom, choice and reality. I also find it more visually interesting, as it has a very specific visual style, and in general more intriguing (especially the first act).
