@mrmonster: @cable_extreme: UFC is very similar to WWE and just like boxing, but on a greater degree, fights have been staged. Beth Phoenix has proven to be stronger than John Cena, as she can carry two wrestlers with a combined weight that is higher than Big Show's, much more easily than John Cena has ever carried the world's largest athlete. In real life, Beth Phoenix would probably punch Ronda Rousey with more force than a high-speed rail train. But Ronda probably has more speed and skill so this fight is likely even.

@banecapital: WWE is nothing compared to UFC. The fact that it is staged is in itself an pure indication that fighting talent is not exposed to the audience. Winning a WWE match is solely dependent on the script and not on sheer ability what so ever. Also to say she is stronger than John Cena because of a staged stunt is incredibly inaccurate. She is strong for a woman, but Ronda would man handle her in the cage.

I’ll explain why, body building does not train for stamina or core in the same way MMA and Judo train for. She would have no knowledge of how to defend against proper submissions like Ronda’s famous (match ending in seconds) arm bars.

This is like saying the Rock vs Alister Overeem, the rock is strong but nowhere near the same league in fighting potential as the guy who KO’d Brock Lesner with kicks to the stomach.

Beth isn't a real fighter. Tbh, this is like asking who would win in a fight between Connor McGregor and Daniel Bryan. We all know the real fighter wins. Just look at what happened to CM Punk and you'll know what it will look like if an inexperienced fighter fought against experienced fighters. As others have said above, WWE isn't real. Yes the moves and injuries were real but it's staged and they have control of their movements to make it as safe as possible. How many times will people state the obvious that WWE is fake?? We already know that and I don't care as long as it's entertaining. Some wreslters like Brock Lesnar or Jack Swagger have real wrestling training so they have a chance against MMA fighters. Comparing WWE to MMA is like comparing The Beatles to Mike Tyson. They are completely different things.

Ronda destroys her. C'mon now.

Regarding who's the better and more accomplished wrestler, Beth should take this comfortably. But in a real life fight Rousey would maul her in a matter of seconds .

I'm watching clips of Beth to see what her "fights" are like. Now Rousey is no world class boxer. Everyone knows her track record going against Holmes and Nunes, and how Rousey's striking coach put some crazy ideas in her head. But even so, based on what I saw from the 4-6 clips I saw of Beth just now, Rousey would pick apart Beth on her feet. Beth doesn't do anything with any technical merit.

And that's just the standup. If you want to talk about grappling... I don't even know what to say about her ground game.
