ASM 1.

Till this day, I'll never get SM2's hype.

Spider-Man 2. It had it's fair share of flaws, but it's still the best of the bunch.

I agree with the majority that it's the best Spider-Man film, but I also agree people are ignorant of it's flaws. Unpopular opinion, but I stopped sympathising with Doc Ock a few minutes into his monologue.

Spider-Man 2 is overrated imo

Why? In my opinion, it's rated as it should be. It's probably the most relatable superhero ever and it was very emotional with a great storytelling and first, second and third act. The music fit perfectly and its tone was just perfect. The subplot of Harry wanting revenge for his father was also good. The acting was great as well, and the dialogues were absolutely amazing. Specially when Peter told Aunt May it was his fault Uncle Ben died.

The movie showed that anyone can fall, but they always pick them self up. Not to mention that Doc Oct's villain was actually a villain who fit in the story and didn't feel like a character put there only to further the plot.

Another thing that was astonoshing with the movie was its action. Fast paced, great movements, agile fight and very entertaining.

The movie really showed that even heroes can fall and go through tough times.

That's just my opinion, though. Why do you think it's overrated?

@captain_batman_ftw:

I'm not really a fan of Tobey McGuire's portrayal of Spider-Man. Its at a level where the contrast between Peter and Spider-Man becomes unrecognizable in the most prominent moments. The film is also smothered with romance, which I can only endure so much of in a certified superhero genre.

Just my thoughts.

SM 2. 3 gets a lot of hate but it's pretty decent, people were just let down it wasn't as good as the previous two.

The romance is actually pivotal to the movie's overarching themes. Which is redemption:

But by god, is Kirsten Dunst awful. She does not inhibit why I love the character. The entire time I'm thinking "why here? Why her when she's acting like such a whiny bitch?"

In the hands of a better performer, we could've sympathised with MJ. Instead, it's cringe worthy.

That, Doc Ock's character and the contrived "Doc Ock grabbing MJ" are probably why I rate the movie an 8 at the most.

SM2. I might say ASM1 would be close but Kurt's motivations and overall villianous plan made absolutely no sense.
