Best Actress - Gal Gadot or Tessa Thompson?

Gal Gadot hasn't done anything great to me yet. Wonder Woman, she couldn't even deliver a lot of her lines because her voice cracked. She's honestly just a beautiful person.

Tessa Thompson has shown more levels. I've seen her in Creed, West World and Thor and she's not just a gorgeous beauty also, but can deliver her lines and with different accents.

They are both bad...

I have only seen them in those two movies, so I am only going to comment based on that. Thompson seems to be the bettet actress, although tbh her first language in English so it is a bit easier for her. That said Gadot was actually a rather pleasant surprise.

Also we never really learned what was the real name of Thompson's character. Everyone kept referring to her as a Valkyrie.

Both are pretty but neither are that hot, Hollywood doesn't really hire out and out sexy women anymore.

The only really sexy actress in the Marvel films was prime Scarlett added 7 years ago and mainstream actresses like her weren't even common back then. They just don't exist anymore in Hollwood

Gal is hot but she was horribly outshined by pine in her own movie, tessa was able to steal the show from big names like ruffalo hemsworth and goldblum. And she wasnt even the main character

Tessa is a better actress, but unfortunately most people here will only judge them based on WW or Valkyrie.

If Tessa stole the show in Ragnarok, then something somewhere went wrong.

@chris-sama: She is a good actress, but an actress is only as good as the material they're given. I don't think it was Taika's intention to make her outshine the star of the film (Chris). But each to their own.

@slimj87d: Precisely. They took particularly good care not to explicitly refer to her as Brunnhilde, e.g. Dragonfang would've been a dead giveaway, but instead of a single legendary sword they made it into a set of swords used by all valkyrie.

Neither

I absolutely loved Gadot in Wonder Woman - best CBM casting since Robert Downey Jr. - but the truth is she has next to range & the reason she was so good is because they worked around her weaknesses.

Now, Tessa is no Tom Hardy or Marlon Brando, but she's shown more range and is more emotive (Gadot's 'wooden' delivery works for Wonder Woman, but can you imagine it for any other character?). The was the second best character in Ragnarok (Korg being the first).

Tessa made me laugh, she played her part beautifully and made me believe she was her character.

Gadot felt emotionally distant, I never felt like she played her part convincingly other than her gorgeous smiles at the right moments. She was too one dimensional.

Tessa is overall a better actress, with more range.

You people need to see Tessa in Westworld, Creed, Dear White People, Selma etc. She has huge range in terms of acting.

Well generally, you don't elaborate to people who are already in agreement with you...like why would you kist off Tessas resume and say "you people" in reference to people who already said Tessa was better? It was confusing.

Gal's acting and line delivery was pretty bad, Thompson, the opposite.

I agree. Don't get me wrong, she was fantastic in the role. I think her modelling career definitely helped as a big part of being a model is facial expressions and she nailed it. I just think her delivery of lines is wooden on the whole: I can't imagine her putting on accents and being a character actor is what I mean, lol. But she knocked it out of the park with Wonder Woman: best CBM casting since RDJ as Iron Man IMO. I can't wait to see her in JL. Valkyrie and Diana are my favourite female CBM characters.

@agent41: anyone can act clueless. It was the complexity of Tessa, the drunkenness and carelessness masking her deep feelings in an attempt to hide the past and then deciding to be true to herself later on. She pulled that off very convincingly. Gadot just acted clueless for half the movie and did iconic superhero stances.
