I'd take Jaws over a New Hope, Rocky too (Empire is another story).

1. Star Wars

2. Superman ( even though I liked superman movie most of these 5 )

3.Rocky ( I liked Rocky, but a good argument can be made that Network was robbed of best film for that year.)

4 .Jaws

5. Close Encounters.

I liked jaws and CE, but always though they were a bit overrated.

And it made an insane amount of money. Domestically, it made over 500 million when adjusted for inflation; that's more than Age of Ultron. Worldwide, it's the highest grossing movie of 1976 and the second highest grossing movie of 1977.

Don't forget Japan gave it best foreign language film.

I always thought it was an indie low budget that was succesful... And I was really going to bring up that.

But. doing some quick research, seems that Rocky´s budget wasn´t too apart with Star Wars or Jaws (I think)
