Bear, Tiger & Gorilla vs Hippo, Lion & Anaconda.
Ok, so by the looks of it there are a lot of animal face offs in this forum. Here's another one:
Team 1:
Grizzly bear is 8.5 feet tall and 1,000 pounds.
Siberian Tiger is 11 feet long and 700 pounds.
Silverback Gorilla is 6 feet tall and 600 pounds.
Team 2:
The Hippo is 15 feet long and 7,000 pounds.
Lion is 10 feet long and 600 pounds.
The Anaconda snake is 30 feet long and 550 pounds.
Rules:
Bloodlust.
No morals.
Asume the animals have enough intelligence to work together.
Fight takes place:
- The African Plains.
@Kingshark: that comic post is ilogical, bear should solo them all with ease
Dude, a hippo has 2 inch thick skin as protection and 1 feet long canines that could maul a bear.
Check the jaws of a hippo;
And here's a hippo biting a crocodile in half:
There's NO way a bear could solo a hippo.
Team 1, land advantage, would pic team 2 in shallow water
Lion's can't swin though, they're scared of water. On the other hand, Tigers and bears are great swimmers.
I tried to make this match as even as possible, Team 2 has the strongest and the weakest player here.

Yea but in water the lion would be a nonfactor.
Hippo vs anyone, Hippo kills/drowns them
Anaconda vs anyone, Anaconda drowns them
Lion vs Anyone, Lion is killed.
On Land
Lion vs Anyone, Lion is killed
Anaconda vs Anyone, Anaconda is killed
Hippo vs. Tiger, Not sure how well the claws or teeth will penetrate, the Tiger is small enough that it could be crushed with any mistake, so I'll say hippo wins with some scratches
Hippo vs. Bear, The bear has more weight to it which means wounds will be deeper and the bear will take more hits, but still not sure if it has any way of bringing down the hippo, so the hippo could win with even more scratches
Hippo vs Gorilla, I think the Gorilla's agility and unique ability to use it's hands and arms grant him the best chance of defeating the hippo, probably by dislocating/breaking it's jaw.
Anyway's because he loses all his teammate's, Hippo will get overwhelmed
I think the fight would go like this:
Soon as the fight starts, the Lion and Tiger attack each other. Lions and Tigers are natural enemies who hate each other.
The Anaconda is going down first, on land the Anaconda is basically a non-factor. They're sluggish and have been killed by Jaguars before. The Grizzly bear mauls the Anaconda with his 5 inch claws.
The gorilla uses every bit of it's agility and speed to keep away from the Hippo's deadly jaws. But the Gorilla can't avoid being bitten forever, and the Hippo finally kills the Silverback.
The Tiger finally kills the lion, but out of nowhere the Hippo charges and tramples the tiger.
Finally: Bear vs Hippo - Hippo wins.
Team 1.
@_Marco_Smith_: the thing can't even fight
Hippo's can't fight? Check this out!

Team 1:
Grizzly bear Vs Hippo Too big and too powerful plus large tusks/teeth
Siberian Tiger Vs Lion The lions mane prevents the tiger from getting a grip on the lions throat plus lions fight other male lions all the time for harems. Tigers are solitary and don't fight other great cats often.
Silverback Gorilla Vs Anaconda. Giving it to the silverback. His hands give him the ability to grab the snake and tear it apart. with his great strength.
The Lion and Silverback can defeat the Hippo as the Lion uses his speed and agility to climb on the back of the Hippo and bite while the Gorrilla pummels it repeatedly as it is distracted by the Lion.
Ups, and downs of each.
Team 1
Grizzly Bear- It's the tank of team 1 basically. Using it's power, and size to take advantage over anything coming directly at it. The bear's probably first going to try to intimidate (which won't work with bloodlusted animals) and then attack. It's the one that has the best shot at taking down anything on team 2. However it can be taken down by being overpowered, or from a well planned stealth attack.
Tiger- As a big cat it favors stealth. It's going to try, and hide in the tall grass of the planes, and sneak around. I'd say it's the first to come across the Anaconda with it's good sense of smell. However it's a little ill equipped for the planes so others could take advantage of that.
Gorilla- It's agile, and more flexible in sticky situation than its teammates. The absence of sharp weaponry makes it less effective in taking down the enemy. With it's grappling way of fighting it could take down the Anaconda, or Lion.
Team 2
Hippo- first the bad. It's slow, and out of place on land, as well as lacks sharp weaponry like the gorilla. It's sheer size, and power give it an advantage. It's the tank of team 2. A hippo's thick layers of fat is like armor, letting it absorb lots of damage. It could distract team 1 while its teammates come up from behind. This could be said for the bear, but the hippo seems more distracting to me. It also has a very powerful bite force which has crushed wooden boats in half, as well as their gigantic body to ram, and trample. There have also been cases where they outran, and trampled people to death.
Lion- Like the Tiger, it's a stealthy hunter. The only difference is it's on its home turf where its camouflage blends better. If male, the mane can also lead the tiger to miscalculate where its jugular should be, and miss. It's worst enemy is being face to face with its prey.
Anaconda- It's stealthy. I could see it distracting an opponent for a good while. I think it dies, but not in vain.
Anyone who honestly thinks that a gorilla has any chance of killing a lion is delusional. Lion destroys gorilla. The fight goes like so:
Gorilla versus LION- the lion's natural expertise to fight and kill prey much larger than itself, like cape buffaloes, as well as its lethal bite force of over 1,000 pounds, exceeded ONLY by the tiger, will absolutely demolish and obliterate the gorilla. Even a lioness would demolish a male Silverback gorilla. She's got the bite, nimble movement, claws, expertise at killing, hunting, and fighting, and routinely takes down buffaloes of far greater toughness and magnitude than the more or less passive gorilla. The lion has absolutely no problem making an easy meal out of the gorilla.
Grizzly bear versus HIPPO - Lol this one's funny. The hippo would effortlessly demolish ANY land carnivore with minimal effort. Polar bear, Kodiak bear, walrus, seal, sea lion, land lion, tiger, you name it. Hippo would waste any land carnivore. Any animal that falls into the "carnivora" order would get destroyed by a hippo in any scenario at any time, whether on land or in the water. Mismatch.
TIGER versus anaconda- Even tigers' much smaller cousins, jaguars, kill the anaconda.
So, this fight comes down to a healthy, full lion and an uninjured hippo against a healthy tiger. Lol not even a fight, like I said: the hippo would demolish ANY of the carnivora animals. Mismatch and far too easy fight for the hippo, while the lion adds insult to injury.
Team 2 wins.
The problem with such fights is that these groupings/battles don't happen in the wild, and so even animal experts would probably not be certain how they would shake out.
And yet, people on CV are supposed to be experts? No.
Anyway, speculation is okay, of course, and since the hippo is greatly underrated in my opinion, I'll take Team 2.
I think the 2 takes this with the hippo's HUGE size and power advantage over everything else making the difference. I also think people are underestimating the anaconda. In south america it is not rare to see jaguars killed by anacondas. A jaguar is not a lion or a tiger but still a very formidable opponent.
The Hippo solos.
@kingshark:which comic is that
The Hippo makes this an absolute slaughter, nothing here is taking it down. F.Y.I Siberian Tigers are generally the least aggressive, although the largest big cat something like a bengal tiger would probably be more useful...though not here, because Hippo.
@kingshark:which comic is that
Lets have a look at team 1
And now compare that with team 2.
Stats wise the teams are nearly identicle, the only difference being the Bear is 2/2 and a Lion is a 3/1. Personally I believe a 2/2 is better stats because it takes more than a one damage board sweeper to destroy it.
Ability wise team 2 has better evasive maneuvers, although islandwalk and swampwalk are pretty situational. The lion being able to stop an enemy blocker is nice, but i believe it is less effective than the gorilla being able to sacrifice itself to straight up kill something with 3 toughness or less. The added card draw on top of that puts the Gorilla's ability solidly above the Lions. The Tiger ability is very nice, making it so that if the opponent doesn't have a bigger blocker than it, they either have to take the 3 damage or chump block it.
Overall I have to give this too team 1. Good battle tho
Team Hippo stomps.
Agreed. Hippo is too op.
Team Hippo stomps.
Agreed. Hippo is too op.
Yep, Gorilla gets trampled wrestling the Anaconda then the Hippo proceeds to maul either the Bear or Tiger in plenty of time to join the fight with the Lion & double team whichever is left.
Ok I gotta know, where is that comic from in the OP??
Hippo is too much. He can fit high amount of stuff in to his huge mouth. It‘s very difficult to avoid approx. half meter long canines and tusks and not get seriously injured backed defensively by a thick layer of fat.
The only animal that‘ll stand up to bull elephants and fight them, besides maybe Rhinos.
@richard_stank: Just read it man, pretty much a darker version of The Lion King lol. Nice read though. That ending. :(
@wolfrazer Commence buttsneckes
@arranvid: But...what if it crawls into a butt?...
@wolfrazer Commence buttsneckes
