Batwoman... how does it make you feel?

How do you guys feel about DC no letting Batwoman and *insert lesbians lovers name here* not getting married? And does DC deserve all this backlash. I think Didio explained it well here, and to be fair he's not being a hypocrite

Now this whole scandel doesnt affect my for two reasons

1- I dont read the book

2- I dont have paper skin and I know that DC isnt homophobic.

The only reason I care is that I love the new 52 and Dan DiDio made it possible, so the man has respect from me. How do people think this will affect Batwoman and N52, or will it pass with all this Villains month excitement. Not to mention Didio pulled a genius move by putting Marc Andreko in charge of the book. And since Marc has my respect for protecting MoS on screen junkies I might by any trade paperback with his writing on Batwoman. But I digress.

Tell me what you think.

@bruxae: And I was joking. But I see how it came off as aggresive, sorry about that. Batwoman cant marry her lesbian lover, so the sheep think they are being homophobic and the actually informed know better but still dont like it.

As for the topic I dont really see an issue, I did a quick google of it and it sounds justified to me. Especially considering alot of male characters have gotten the same treatment recently, its just a design choice.

That said I dont really agree that spouses neccessarily tie characters down to much, but I still respect the decision and their reasoning.

There are people who actually think they are homophobic, which is the most idiotic thing Ive ever heard since he approved of her being gay in the first place. So since people have short term memories, hiring an openly gay writer who's done chick heroes and knows how to do lbgt character is a good move. I'm upset. It cost DC one of their best creative teams and probably doomed one of the best books out there.

Anyway, I'm angry that the writers got messed around, and I'm unhappy that they've left, and that the series will be changing.

I don't think they have to get married.

Lots of people wait to get married in the real world, so why not in the DCU?

I don't like this idea that characters getting married is not a good thing. Seems silly to me. People get married in real life. I am upset that the creative team is leaving. It has been a great book. I do like Andreko though. His Manhunter series was awesome so I will give him a chance. While I don't think that DC is homophobic I would not call people sheep just because they might think that. There is a lot of homophobia in the world.

I am i the only one that thinks its a little weird that they replace the writers with an openly gay writer to write a lesbian character

Marriage rarely works in the comics..look at Spider-man for ex. A gay couple wouldn't have much better luck,but then again I never cared for Batwoman because of the whole gay bit anyways. Well that and I saw no real point to another bat(insert gender here)running around
