Avatar Bender Superlatives: Nominations

The purpose of this thread is to discuss and eventually vote on the best benders in various categories

First, I'd like to invite everyone to nominate benders for the categories. Nominations will be open for 1-2 weeks (I haven't quite decided yet but I'll give fair warning before closing nominations). During this time and for a little after nominations are closed, we can discuss the reasons why different benders deserve to win in the category.

After nomination and discussion time, I'll open it up for voting. Then, after about a week, voting will be closed and we'll have our winners

Rules for Nominations:

Avatars can be nominated for one element (ex. I could nominate Aang as an airbender or Wan as a firebender)

Try to not nominate someone who's already been nominated

Most Evasive Bender: Aang

I kind of meant that category to just be for benders who were skilled without bending too

Maybe making most agile/fastest bender a category? Aang kinda owns the evasive one, but in terms of speed/agility he's got some fair competition to make things interesting

Most Powerful Bender: Avatar Wan (Fire)

Most Versatile Bender: Avatar Aang (Air)- for fighting off every bending form and some unique ones, using only Air and winning the majority of the time.

Most Skillful Bender: Toph Bei Fong - Invented Metal bending, child prodigy, at her old age was bending mud with her hands behind her back and no obvious movement.

Most Unique Bender: Ming Hua (no arms, still top 5 waterbender)

Most Underrated Bender: Amon (bends waters to such a degree that without a full moon he can blood bend. And do that to such a degree he can take away someones bending)

Most Surprising Bender: Meelo (fart bending?)

Best Fighter: Azula (Fast, Agile, above average power, excellent strategist, and very inventive offense, In a show full of prodigies it took a mental breakdown for her to lose a confrontation)

Best as a Non-Bender: Zuko- (How many benders have defeated large groups of opponents without Bending. His hand to hand and sword skills make him more impressive then most others fighters without bending)

Most Versatile Bender: Toph

All nominations are supposed to be benders (though I'm considering adding a category for just nonbenders), the nonbender one right now is for benders who are skilled as nonbenders

I agree with all of this. As for Most unique, i have to give that to aang. He utilizes the elements in ways nobody bothers to try. Air scooters, Earth crystal armors, water arms, etc. He is really imaginative and his skill and creativity with air bending makes this all come to be.

So Aang for most unique as an airbender?

Azula isn't underrated, she's wanked to high heaven. Mako is a good bender who's underrated.

a) Avatar Kyoshi, unless her feat is considered mixed. Even so, each individual element is extraordinarily strong here. So choose whichever you want, I'd say she comes out ahead.

Most Versatile Bender: Katara with water? she could heal, she could bloodbend, she could rip water out of trees, strong defense as well as offense. Aang with air did some out of the box stuff as well.

Most Skillful Bender: I... don't know. How do you define skill here?

Most Unique Bender: Sparky sparky boom man/ Pi'li. Their bending is unique because it doesn't require martial arts style movements like the others.

Most Underrated Bender: Zhao. No one cares about him :p

Most Overrated Bender: zaheer.

Most Surprising Bender: As in?

Best Fighter: Aang: I don't think anyone has matched his fighting capabilities till now. If there's anything he excels at, it's this.

Best as a Non-Bender: Amon or ty lee.

@arcus I was thinking that it might be better to rename the last category Best H2H combatant, or maybe at least but "H2H" in brackets.

Also, would you say that person's bending ability/skill is separate from their actual fighting ability. Obviously they are linked to a degree, but lets take JJ for example. He was clearly an exceptional fire bender, shown constructing a massive fire wall that stretched across an entire river. However, he wasn't really a fighter anymore. Another example is Zaheer. He was an exceptional fighter(a confirmed master martial artist), but his actual air bending techniques wasn't as good as say Tenzin's.
