Are You Addicted to Comic Vine?

I have two class presentations I need to prepare by Monday, but I can not stop thinking about Comic Vine. I feel obsessed. I'm supposed to be researching, but most of my mind is cluttered with "I wonder if I have any alerts yet... I wonder if anybody posted any interesting threads... I wonder what's happening in the PM..."

Whenever I open a new tab to look something up, and I see the Comic Vine bookmark, it is literally a force of will not to click on it. And most of the time, I fail.

I feel a bit yes the tab is always open and it's just a habit to go and refresh the page constantly. Even when I was revising for my uni exams I always had it open and ended up on it eventually. Might need to take a break soon, though now I'm on summer break so probably not lol

Yes. When I come home from work, I like to see what geeky subject people are talking about. 95% of the people I meet in my daily life have little to no interest in comics, games or genre movies/TV.

You're in trouble then because this site will close down eventually especially considering there is no one really giving it full attention to being in new people.

I am addicted to comicvine, reddit and youtube. First thing I do in the morning is turn pc on and opening all of these last thing I do is check them a last time before going to sleep lol.

Yeah. It actually got pretty bad a few months ago.

If I am in a hot debate with someone and have to step away from the computer for a while my mind does often wonder if they replied yet or what they said, but besides that no. It's something I like doing in my freetime but I could easily go without, especially since I don't read that many comics nowadays. I only read the Batman bi-weekly when it comes out, everything else I wait for trades to come out. I don't really have a reason to not come here though, so here I am.

It's on and off for me. Sometimes I'll go two months without checking, other times I'll stay up for six hours checking PMs.

I think herein lies the problem. I have nobody to geek out on in real life who actually wants to talk about it past, "Yeah that new MCU movie was pretty cool."

I'm constantly logged in on my work computer, home computer and mobile. I don't think I've ever hit the 'log out' button, my girlfriend calls me addicted at least twice a day and every spare second I get, I check it.

That said, I think most people do the same thing with Facebook and never bat an eyelid, and this is way cooler.

I wouldn't say so, I'm frequently active but only when I've got nothing better to do. I'd much rather go out or play some footy with the lads tbh (but I can't do that 24/7)

Nah, it's a pretty cool site and I actually discovered it by accident but to me, addiction is something you can't live without; I can live fine without Comicvine.

Yeah when I first made an account. But I am more busy now so I stopped using it as much.

It's the first tab I open every time I log in to my computer and I refresh the page every five minutes or so...I also spend a big part of my free time thinking about it, like threads I might create and whatnot... I'm addicted.

When i first found comicvine, i thought all the users with the default ava were the same and i'm like, "i'm seeing this guy everywhere, and he's pretty smart"

No, because if I wwas addicted then that would mean CV was my #1 in daily life but that is not the case.

School and work come first and once I've finished doing my duties then, but only then I'm on Cv.
