Poll Are Linkin Park a great band? (22 votes)

Yes 77%
No 23%

What do you think? I'd say they were pretty much consistent in those years.

They’re probably the greatest in the Nu-Metal movement/era bands as they seemed to really perfect that particular sound and style. I wouldn’t put them in the category of all-time great bands but they were really good imo. I saw them live twice and they put on really good shows. Chester Bennington really had a great voice and blows his peers away in the Nu-Metal genre

I'm biased because of both nostalgia and anti-nostalgia, so I can't say. I'll go with "good but not great", just in case.

I agree with this.

Meteora and Hybrid were revolutionary for their times. Nowadays I don’t really know.

I love many of their songs, but I wouldn't call them an objectively “great” band in terms of musical ability. Chester had a good voice and the how they incorporated rapping into some of their songs was cool. But still I don’t think I would consider them “great”.

For the Nu-Metal genre, they’re one of the best and I enjoy many of their songs.

Also, am I the only one who I still gets chills when hearing What I’ve Done at the end of Transformers?

You meant their 2017 ones? Because I think the 2012 album was decent tbh.

They were my favorite band until I found Starset. Everyone clings to their angsty albums like Hybrid Theory and Meteora when in reality every album after that was so good. Minutes to Midnight is my favorite because it had everything and I think encapsulates all the different sounds they were striving after. I spent many nights alone vibing out to that album. LP is legendary imo and what happened to Chester nearly broke me
