Big fan of the franchise. Going on a 7 or 8 year drought.

There was talk of a movie reboot or continuation of the movie that would not be cannon to the series (Stargate without Teal'c is not Stargate imo) , but I have not heard about that for a while.

Origins will be canon with the show's universe, and will focus on the character Dr. Catherine Langford. It will be shown on the MGM website in the Link.

Thoughts?

I'm a huge fan of SG1 but I felt that series but there was no where else to go with it.

They tried to fix it by going even farther out and mostly leaving Earth which was a good idea but the show itself paled in comparison.

THey tried again with SGU with the same idea of separating from Earth which again is a good thing but they decided to make it darker. I was in the minority but I thought that was a good idea as it gave it it's own uniqueness.

As far as the clip.........I'm not looking forward to a preequel at all not the implications of one.

They just should have rebooted.

Stargate SG1 second only to farscape in my science fiction series list.

a shame the series eventually became kind of a mess.
