Would it be acceptable for an American actor to play The Doctor? Why or why not? If they put on an accent, would it be ok?
American Dr. Who?
Depends on who it is. I do know its like 14 hours days of filming for like 2 week for one episode. They'd have t be dedicated as well as good. There are also a lot of going around schools and things alike. It's hard work on that set.
No, I dont know why us Americans feel we have to have an American adaption of every......single....thing.
The only one that has ever worked was Nikita.

I don't think he means to have an American version of Doctor Who. Just an American character as the Doctor.

Ah I see.
Well....still no....
Elijah Wood is American and beat out everybody else for the role of Frodo (in a cast that was LARGELY Euro/Australian/New Zealand) based on skill. If there was an American actor who auditioned for The Doctor and was THAT talented that he beat out other prospects, then by all means, give him the role.
I'd like to see an American actor play the role. The Doctor isn't British, he's a Time Lord so there's no reason why an American can't play the role.
I am fairly conflicted on this topic. Just wanted to see what other people thought.
Sooooo, are there any actors out there you'd like to see play The Doctor??? (of any nationality)
Yes, if they are skilled enough.
