Since Nile Crocodiles have a hard time against Cape Buffaloes, hows does an American Alligator fare here?

I mean, the Water Buffaloes dont exactly engage into a fight with the Crocs. Usually its a surprise attack from the Crocs in order for them to bring down the 1 Ton beast. I dont know what the Buffalo can do when its ordinary confrontations against Crocs are to escape its grasps. If you are asking if the Buffalo can escape an American Alligator then sure. If its a fight then the Gator wins on water. Land the Buffalo has a chance.
