2han is the older one, the website was previously operated under Packet Monster Inc., a company based in Chinatown, Singapore, between 2009 and 2014. The site 4chan was once more like ni channeru or 2chan a dumb Japan anime site, I have trouble reading these sites they scroll like an archived university bulletin board from the 90s or 80s or something... 2Chan was the first but the Japan guy was sued and shutdown, 4chan was the Western style version, Created by Christopher Poole he then sold 4Chan to Hiroyuki-Nagasaki the original Japan 2chan dude or whatever his name is... in the past decades another develpment happens, the Western dude immigrating, teaching English or whatever. A NewYork California guy moved to Japan, Schofillmann Aldwinckle some kind of Jewish name, he wrote media articles changed his name to Debito, after a while he goes social justice and gets offended by things, he sued maybe try to shut down the original 2Chan, won a libel lawsuit win against HiroyukiNagasaki some support this win but other Americans, Japanese and Ex-Pats I spoke to in Japan see Debito as a kind of pain in the ass and a stereotype.
Japan, is a nice country it is a very unique place, an interesting culture and sometimes I don't always agree with it but they do their own thing, sometimes weird, they are unique people. The 2chan site on February 19, 2014, 2channel underwent a domain name repossession, with Jim Watkins, an ex-US Army officer and chairman of San Francisco-based N.T. Technologies taking full control over the website, relieving Nishimura of all power, and assuming the role of website administrator.
