I've heard this arguement many times when someone brings how Roshi destroyed the moon. This is a feat this is something he actually accomplished.

1: Because nobody demonstrated that kind of power again until Saiyan Saga. Not even Goku and Piccolo's strongest attacks at the 23rd Budokai.

2: Because Roshi was nervous about fighting the Red Ribbon Army during the next arc and doubts his ability to defeat them which he should easily be able to do if he's really a Moon buster.

3: Even if the feat wasn't an outlier, nobody else could be scaled from it since Roshi busted the Moon in his Max Power Form which increases his power by an unknown amount and which he never actually used in a fight until Super against the Frieza Soldiers. I've seen people literally try to scale 21st Budokai Goku and everyone above him to Moon busters based on that feat.

Akira toriyama constantly shows things in subtle ways, perhaps he expects to much from people.

He shows Roshi busting the moon, to show off how powerful they are.

He shows Roshi and Krillin fighting for 40 seconds in .2 seconds, a literal flash, never does this again, thinks people are smart and realize ALL FIGHTS after this happen in such a way. Of course we still argue how fast they are even though the feats are cemented and legit, all because low information fans/lowballers don't know/understand this feat, they think DbZ characters are moving as fast as they see on screen which is not how it is.

Even in Super he just showed those Universal feats that might not happen again, to show off their power.

Roshi busted the moon and he gets surpassed. By the way Akira toriyama in that statement some lowballer will bring up said Roshi ALWAYS held back so those feats stand up. IF ROSHI WAS SO damn strong someone would have noticed with their ki sensing.

It really doesn't matter, people are proven stronger than Roshi and DB attacks pierce, they don't need to show off huge AoE attacks, their little beams would still pierce moon-multi-moon by the end of DB.

There was no need to ever destroy the moon again till Saiyan Saga.

Roshi didn't show he was nervous going against the Red Ribbon Army actually. His only fret about going against the army was that he did not believe he would have the stamina to take all of them own by himself like Goku had done. More so, Roshi has never actually killed anyone, so why would he use a Full powered Kamehameha against them?

Roshi trains for the 22nd budokai and still quits and admits Tien was stronger, the Dodompa is stated to be superior to the kamehameha BY ROSHI.

Tien = stronger then Roshi that is superior to 21st budokai Roshi - Dodompa > kamehameha. Debate all you want, Tien is over moon level and Tao likely is, he is much superior to the Goku that just equaled Roshi and has the dodompa.

He answered those.

Anybody want to tell me how Tien couldn't bust the moon if he choose to? He has zero reason to. He is superior to a Roshi superior to the one that busted the moon and his dodompa is superior to the kamehameha, that pretty much proves he could bust the moon at his leisure. Hell the Piccolo in DBZ proves people 22nd budokai and beyond could bust the moon IF THEY CHOOSE TO.

Lowballers i swear =)

roshi's buff form full powered kamehameha destroyed the moon. He uses so much power that he can't do a little kamehameha now. It was implied that he could have killed goku with it.

However, his KHH couldn't do anything to old daimao, so , anything from young daimao & up is moon level

Yes it an outlier.

I mean as ValarMelkor say in comment above

Even piccolo and Goku in 23rd Budokai (or last arc of Dragonball) are only Small Country level+.

This move is clearly plot-device to stop Oozaru goku.

roshi needed to go into his buff form to destroy a mountain, and destroying a mountain is a lot easier to destroy then a moon
