best Iron Man run: Kurt Busiek or Daniel Knauf & Charles Knauf
Haven't finished Busiek's run, but the first two arcs were good, however, I enjoyed more the Knauf run.
Busiek's run. not only was it a return to form for Iron Man comics but it also had the advantage of Sean Chen's artwork, he was the perfect artist for the character. overall the finished product was of a higher quality.
I wasn't a fan of Knauf's run (the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D era) it was typical 00s Marvel, a writer brought in from outside of comics who did a serviceable job with what he was asked to do, but nothing great. and Tony during the Civil War/Initiative era was treated purely as a foil for other characters, and as a vehicle for making points about government overreach. call me old fashioned but I didn't like Iron Man being recast as an analogy for George W Bush.
@noone1996: They are actually father and son, with Daniel being the father, and Charles being the son.
@dcandmarvelcomicfan: I'd go with Knauf's run although I thought Busiek's was good too.
Fractions run > both of those, and I’m a huge Busiek fan. Fraction delivers the definitive Iron Man with his work.
The Knaufs, easily. Fraction was garbage. I got sick of the constant alcoholism metaphors very quickly.
@tem_borjigin: This is Knauf or Kurt Busiek. Not Fraction....
@ffs91: Knauf Brothers, not even close. Better artwork, fights and story.
@ffs91: Knauf Bros, had the best feats!
