Invincible Discussion Thread (SPOILERS)

Basically, stay away from this thread if a new issue has come out and you haven't read it yet.

Figured we could use a thread to discuss Invincibile, and the direction we think the series is going to go in from here.

First off, I'm pretty excited that the last two issues actually came out within a month of each other, finally the schedule is back on track (hopefully).

So, with the end of the Viltrumite War, I assumed we'd be seeing the end of the major plot-thread of Invincible, the Viltrumites, their plans, and the Coalition's attempts to stop them. So before I read the last couple of issues I was thinking, well, what is going to drive this series now? Seeing the next few covers in advance, it gives the impression that, from here on, it's just a bunch of fights against all of Mark's villains. Dinosaurus, Tether Tyrant, Magmaniac, Universa, PowerPlex... I was worried that this series was going to boil down to standalone issues where Invincible fights a villain and moves on. The last two issues changed my mind, because now we have yet more plot-threads and questions.

Will Allen release the Scourge virus on Earth and doom his friends?

What is going to happen to the Invinci-reanimen?

Are the Viltrumites really going to remain hidden?

Will Nolan find his true place in this world?

Will Eve lose that weight?

What do you guys think?

 any ideas on why the black guy takes on the name invincible, personaly i'm thinking that mark takes a break from heroics and one of his friends takes over for him, hopefully it's BulletProof, but the hair is completly different, or it could be his friend from highschool that we haven't seen since he started collage

1. Somebody else will acquire Scourge virus and use it, against Allen's wishes.

2. Cecil will use them when the time comes.

3. Knowing Viltrumites, I don't believe they can stay hidden for a long time.

4. I doubt it, not with all the world knowing that Omni-Man is evil.

5. I think Eve's weight is a hint that she is going to break up with Invincible. After all, she is a complete mess after

just read the newest issue, and i'm am seriously pissed at what Eve went and done (i'm all for the choice of it) she never even asked mark's opinion she just went and did it, I don't think their relationship will last after something like that

Been meaning to check this series out for ages now. Just ordered Invincible Ultimate Collection Hardcover Vol. 1, =D

I think the authors just needed an excuse to break them up.

Guys I just finished Invincible #71 ..... my local comic store doesn't carry the Invincible series anymore following #71.

someone explain this whole Black Invincible to me. I am up to date on all Invincible so no need to fear revealing spoilers and stuff. Also Eve surprised the hell out of me, i thought she had given them up for adoption or something(that's who I thought Immortal's kids originally were).

I want to know what's up with Kirkman.

It's like he has no idea what to do after the Viltrumite War.

In my opinion...even though Invincible is by far my favorite character...this series is going downhill after the war.

Can't believe William was gay all this time. Not only that be he also had a crush on Markus for a while. I always suspect him and Rick were kinda together but this surprised me stuff that they took it in this direction. Though it makes sense.  
Then Las Vegas  getting glassed! How you gonna put solar panels there now if the entire place is glass? The dinosaur guy didn't think of that

Yeah William being gay was out of left field.  Much like the whole comic its all about the shock factor.  Sure there were small little things like William getting flown around and the flier says this is so gay but nothing that stood out saying, this guy might be gay.

Typical that you guys censor your spoilers in a topic that has 'SPOILERS' in the title... xD 
 
Dang, I'm a little late to the party, but issue 80 was pretty freaking amazing. What I liked most was how the pace FINALLY seems to be picking up. We had some resolution to the Nolan situation, Mark finally visiting William, a great moment between Invincible and that dude with the boots (look at me, trying to avoid spoilers, LOL, spoiler tags never work for me) which I, for the life of me, can't figure out. Kirkman wouldn't throw in a scene like that, especially one taking up so many pages, unless that character was going to come back later on. I just can't figure out what his role might be when he returns. 
 
And that last scene... Wow, totally blown away by that one. Probably the most shocked I've ever been by the ending to a comic book... My brain was coming up with a few solutions to what happened, so I was really surprised when I turned the page to find... THAT.
